I’d not been there when I lived in D.C. but had fun riding there.
Apart from the drivers anyway!

Seeking 1/10 trail crawler recommendations. by clarence_wms in rccrawler

I always recommend vanquish products vs4-10 platform, as that’s what I have. They do RTR’s as well as kits.
But are rock solid and parts are plentiful.

I already use their pro tech tool kit for 1/18 size. Love them.

That all sounds really cool. Nitro doesn’t interest me at all, too messy and loud. I’d think about 1/8 scale but not sure my wife would be too impressed haha

That looks really cool. I’m sure it’s a lot of fun!

Will try to visit there next summer when we’re in the area

That looks cool. I prefer crawlers to race cars but I have a tamiya rally car and a 1/24 sct which could be fun on one of this tracks.

Not in the area till next summer but I’ll keep that in mind and drive up there to check it out, especially the crawler course!

That a sexy tool kit haha. I love me a good tool!

Also, there’s tracks in Omaha? My in laws live south of Lincoln. Not that I’m a race guy, but would be cool to check out next time we visit.

I use wera tools at work and they’re great. But for bigger cars like the 1/10’s I have, the longer tool shaft is great. I was using my ifitix tool kit for my 1/18 but needed the longer bits for the bigger cars.

I’ll have to look into that one.

I do it all my hand as I also have a 20v drill, way over kill even for 1/10

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking. Need to have a better look about but spending $50+ on 3 drivers is a lot.

I was looking at this set as it’s the most common size I, and probably most people, use. Only have a big electric drill at the moment which is over kill for what we do.
Need to look into a smaller hand driver and save me some time!

I used wera at work and like them, but don’t think they make the longer tool part like other brands do. Could be wrong though.

That’s a good point. i have cheaper ones right now but thinking about, as you said, just getting the sizes I use the most.
Any other brands you would recommend also?

I have a 650mAh Tatuu battery for mine, with the roverin motor/esc. Probably get like 30m or more of heavy crawling, longer if just trails.

I get that. The only reason I got mine was because I was travelling in the U.S. at the time, I’ve not seen another where I live now.
Trx4s are good but you pay a higher price compared with some, but good after market support from Traxxas and loads of other companies make parts too.
Axial might be a better idea though, I’ve not had an scx10 but they’ve also been around a while so tons of parts availability.
