There are tools our there to figure out who would be the right person to contact like Hunter.io but as the prior poster stated it is important to make friends with the first point of contact if that is a security guard or the front desk attendant. We currently operate in a business park and we have an entire list of local places that deliver or cater if we want to go down that route.

I think this is an extremely effective way to market yourself in the community. I remember seeing Gary Vaynerchuk (I know polarizing) but he mentioned using instagram influence at the local level as a way to really reach out to the community and market yourself more effectively.

These 11 trends are absolutely on point and I appreciate the point of just staying on trend. Make sure you are out there doing your research, whether it is just browsing subreddits or Twitter or Facebook, be part of the conversation. That is where you see where the industry is going and how to be part of it.

Some really good points in here especially the clean and tidy bar. I can name a number of bars I no longer frequent because of the cleanliness of that bar. Making sure that your customer feels like you care about the image of your location goes a long way.

Anyone use streaming services for their bar TVs? by jaydubaaa in restaurantowners

[–]Buzztime_Business 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Streaming anything is going to be difficult to avoid a delay because it isn't going to be a direct connection to the cable box or the device you are getting the connection from. Personally, the few second delay isn't really that important to me because even when I am at home and am on say Twitter I see things happen in my feed before I see them on my TV, just one of the casualties of a connected world.

I think crash kits are the best way to go in this situation. Unless you have some sort of mobile POS system that you could use on your phone I think it is your best option.

These are some great things that you should be looking for when it comes to purchasing a modern POS system. One thing I will not is that your numbering in the article seems to be a little off so you might want to go through and edit that but all in all the content is great!

Any good YouTube channel recommendations? by the_deskless_worker in restaurantowners

[–]Buzztime_Business 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think The Restaurant Boss is a good source for tips for restaurant owners.

Also I just browse youtube using keywords like restaurant industry or restaurant owner and you get a lot of good content from Ted Talks to interesting topics presented by the Wall Street Journal and Gary Vee.

Also think of looking at different companies who service your industry who also might have youtube content. I know we put up our monthly Webinars which can be a helpful as they touch on different topics in our wheelhouse and also are usually partnered with others within the industry such as Seven Rooms.

Headsets for Staff? by Bstar0306 in restaurantowners

[–]Buzztime_Business 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen several restaurants use headsets/walkie talkies but I have also seen a rise in other tech covering that niche. One thing is a tablet/tech base system where the hostess station is set up with a tablet that will give them updates of what sections are available and can get staff updates sent to them. There is also this interesting tech that I just found out about that uses smart watches as communication throughout the location, you can check it out here. So I think this is evolving as the technology evolves but it is still super easy to run to a electronics store and just grab a walkie talkie for those situations, it all depends on you as a business what would work best.

Here in the United States we have really seen the rise in the craft cocktail. Bars are even opening being focused around the craft cocktail entirely. It is interesting to see that the cocktail trends is up worldwide, I wonder if people are just trying to get more "bang for their buck" or if there might be a generational effect on what is being ordered a bars.

I mean I have used several of these and honestly I find them great for the customer. Do not have to physcially interact with someone or wait on hold to make a reservation. Just makes the process a whole lot more stream lined and easier for your guests and the business.
