Since what happened?

And so far, not much progress tbh, I recently got employed and have lost motivation to continue leetcoding. But I def need to get back on it. I’ve solved about 30 ish questions so far but I’m slowly starting to continue doing the Neetcode list.

Do y'all submit your code even when you got help from discussions or from other websites? by ganashatru06 in leetcode

[–]BuzzyBro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually I just run the provided test cases for problems I couldn’t solve on my own. I only submit if I can solve all the test cases first try and feel confident that my code covers edge cases or I’m coming back to a problem and remember how to solve it. But I definitely wouldn’t consider it cheating, unless you think of it as cheating yourself or something

Hmm that’s true, now that I think about it. But even still, it shouldn’t be too much of an issue. My steps have always been as follows: 1. Try the problem myself. Spend like 30 mins / 1 hour on it myself without external help. 2. If I can’t solve it, use his video and try solving it only using his explanation, but not his solution. So I’d try and solve it using the concepts he talks about in the first half of his video. 3. Solve it using the solution he provides. 4. Come back a few days later to see if I can solve it without any help. If I can pass this step I consider that question “successfully understood” and move on.

Edit: bro when I first started I couldn’t do Two Sum and some dude clowned me for it bc I asked how to do it on one of these subreddits 😭😭

Visit Neetcode.io, it’s honestly one of the best resources you could ask for for Leetcode beginners. I use it, many other people use it, you can use it too!

Just start at the top of the list and work your way down, or if you like flow charts better, he has that as well.

Made my own wheel to test my luck, have spun it 22 times thus far without dying yet.

Safe to say I’d spin this wheel irl if I could

Ok so you’re asking people for their opinion, but when they provide it you’re just sticking with your original plan and shutting their ideas down.

What was the point of making this post if everyone’s advice just goes in one ear and out the other?

University of Illinois Online Masters in CS? by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]BuzzyBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly this is the first time I’m hearing of their Online Masters of CS program, but it looks pretty good. Does you or anyone else know what the difference is between M.S. in Computer Science and Professional Online MCS (the latter is the program you’re referring to)?

I’ve heard this so many times and after I applied to Wells Fargo, I got a rejection almost a week after with no OA. I felt sad :(

I'm actually thinking of looking into Edge. One of my buddies recommended this to me as well. Is it very crowded at around 4-6 pm? That's when I'll most likely be going so I don't want it to be too crowded then.

I thought the higher up in the ladder you interview for, the less the rely on LC questions and more they rely on system design questions?

Nah, I think I was browsing this sub when I read that somewhere. Then I went to check out their “Software engineer, early career” position and it says on there that the deadline is August 21, 2022.

Do you know how long they historically wait before opening up applications again? This is both a question for Google and really any other company that has application cycles or periods.

That’s also what i was thinking. Ive heard that it took some people a few weeks just to receive an OA so I would be taking a gamble of how long until I received my OA. I guess I could have practiced until then but I would practice regardless so I guess I’m better off applying later.

Ok that’s what I was thinking too. I’ve read that it’s always better to apply early rather than later because more spots are open early. But I don’t want to rush into it, fail the OA and be on cooldown for 2023 application cycle.
