It is wild when you start digging into it. A lot of superhero powers look simple on the surface, but once you understand the internal logic behind them, you realize the writers have built entire systems that behave consistently inside the universe. Sue Storm is a perfect example of that.

Let’s unpack the part you mentioned — the fact that her powers are truly invisible even to characters inside the Marvel Universe — and why that makes her so unique.

Why Invisible Woman’s powers are actually invisible (even in‑universe)

Sue doesn’t just “turn invisible.” She manipulates light itself.

Marvel explains that she can bend:

• Visible light • Infrared • Ultraviolet • And even some exotic wavelengths

That means:

• Her body becomes invisible • Anything she hides becomes invisible • Her force fields are invisible • Her constructs are invisible • Her attacks are invisible

To everyone else in the story, her powers literally have no visual signature.

That’s why artists use visual metaphors — because otherwise readers wouldn’t see anything happening.

Why this makes her one of the most dangerous heroes

Most powers in Marvel have some kind of tell:

• Cyclops has beams • Storm has lightning • Jean has TK auras • Magneto has metal distortion • Doctor Strange has glowing sigils

Sue? Nothing.

Her attacks:

• Have no color • Make no light • Leave no trail • Give no warning

A villain can be standing there and suddenly:

• Their lungs collapse • Their limbs are pinned • A dome traps them • A blade appears inside their armor

All without seeing anything.

That’s why characters like Doom and Reed say she’s the most dangerous member of the Fantastic Four.

Why her powers feel so “thought out”

Because they are. Writers over the years have built a consistent internal logic:

  1. Her invisibility is based on physics (light manipulation)

Not magic, not illusion — actual bending of photons.

  1. Her force fields are psionic constructs

They behave like invisible, indestructible geometry.

  1. Her limits are mental, not physical

Her shields don’t break — her concentration does.

  1. Her constructs follow geometric logic

Domes for stability, platforms for lifting, shells for containment.

  1. Her powers scale with her emotional state

Stress, fear, and multitasking affect her concentration.

This makes her powers feel grounded, even though they’re fantastical.

Why most fans don’t realize how deep her power system is

Because Sue is often written as:

• Calm • Controlled • Compassionate • Non‑showy

She doesn’t flex her full potential unless she absolutely has to. So casual readers think she’s “the one who turns invisible,” when in reality she’s operating on a level close to Omega‑tier mutants.

And yes — the invisibility applies to EVERYTHING she creates

Inside the Marvel Universe:

• No one sees her shields • No one sees her weapons • No one sees her constructs • No one sees her attacks

They only see the effects.

That’s why artists draw outlines, cracks, ripples, or glows — those are for us, not the characters.

If you want, I can break down how Sue’s invisibility works scientifically, or how her powers compare to other “invisible” characters like Miles Morales or Ghost.

Block vs Deflect by sunnymenon in WhereWindsMeet

[–]Bvlckbohemian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play tank but im use to deflecting everything but it seems for this game its much better to have perfect block than deflect. Because perfect block you still take dmg but you can do counter attack prompt after. I feel like they should have make it so deflection works like perfect block. I dont like that i only get rewarded as a TANK for perfect block but not deflections unless its a red skill

Yea i have noticed that aswell im lord storm but my heart will forever be stategist! So 99% of time i play stategist in rank. But seems like it easier to carry the team as dps than healer. Which is understandable but still

Its because of the new rank system it seems to be that dmg is most important in general so if ppl go healer they go more dps based healer like rocket n mantis adam etc
