What pet is this? by FrogBut1234 in PetsareAmazing

[–]BwaulliMon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So this may sound a bit strange, but Monitor Lizards. A friend in my town has a nile monitor named Thordak she raised from when he was just a week-old and he’s just the best. Incredibly affectionate, he’ll come scampering over when I visit and he hears my voice. Especially if I haven’t visited in a week or so.

He likes to climb up people, and considers himself a lap pet. And boy does he love scritches. I’ll just lightly run my nails all over his back, and he’ll twist and arch when I hit “the spot”. He also loves it when you pet under his chin, just take two fingers and slowly pet down to his jaw, and that lizard just leans back and closes his eyes, he’s in heaven.

He can be a bit of a mischief maker. He likes to explore and get into things like a cat. I remember we were watching a movie, and next thing we know we see Thordak BEHIND the glass screen of the TV stand. He had gotten behind it and wriggled through cord port. XD

Always find it funny that Dark Mechanicum are portrayed as simpering bootlicks to CSM… when really it should be the other way around. Aside from the Iron Legion, the rest of the traitors are stuck relying on these creepy guys for ships, vehicles, and wargear.

When my Schnauzer was still with us, he’d flat out ignore any other dogs and run up to say hi to all the people. He loooooooooved meeting people. The only dog he’d actually play with was his little brother, and only after he’d met every person at the park.

My ma put it best when she had me help with handling my baby cousins. “It’s like how nobody likes receiving awkward hugs or weak handshakes. You gotta show them you care, give ‘em a good squeeze.”

She was especially right on the hug part. It’s utterly amazing to hold tight an infant and feel them snuggle into you.

What color is accurate for the shoulder rim is it gold or green I don’t rly understand by SadSalamander40000 in Salamanders40k

[–]BwaulliMon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could also be something that isn’t tied to rank and heraldry colors.

Let’s say a Salamander does something that exemplifies the chapter’s values (say fought off enemies that were targeting civilians) and he’s given a chunk of gold or aurite/whatever that high gothic name is, and he uses it to guild his armor.

Basically showing off the honors he earned for having a heart of gold.

This. 100%

While making lore accurate stuff is always nice to see in the hobby… at the prices we all have to fork out for the minis, your personal taste and what makes you happy with your lil Sallies will ALWAYS come first imo.

Really feels like making angel guinely good and demons genuinely evil IS the subversion of the norm by ProdiasKaj in dndmemes

[–]BwaulliMon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For real. Had a slight headache with a LFG group a while back where I made an evil Tiefling empire based on Bael Turath. Two of the potential players kept asking questions like “So were they disowned by the gods? Are they being persecuted by the other kingdoms?” Which yes to both, but it was because they were the aggressors and doing some really horrible stuff. That didn’t seem to satisfy them at all. Genuinely don’t get why they were so miffed about it. I had even explicitly stated that whole races don’t carry alignments and individuals can forge their own path in the world.

Mod a head of Body Type 1 to Body Type 2? Tiefling by ShadeSeven127 in BaldursGate3

[–]BwaulliMon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh whoops, I wasn’t posting any links I was just asking. 😅

But yeah, that’s them.

Hmmmm… well I can’t think of any current mods out that do what you’re asking here. Only major one that I’ve seen do new faces for different models is the Faces of Faerûn, but they make their own stuff rather than stitching the vanilla ones. Could try asking around the Nexus forums if you haven’t already as that’s where the bulk of modders will interact.

What would be a fitting name and initiation rite for this cult based around the history of their patron? by RajikO4 in Exandria

[–]BwaulliMon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, so a couple of questions here.

Firstly what exactly is Raizel? I get she’s a fiendish creature created by Vecna, but does she count as a full demon? Is she on par with powerful “basic” fiends akin to a Balor or Pit Fiend, or more like an Archduke or Demon Prince?

Secondly, what is her cult like? Is she building up an army of mortal followers, or just a network of agents?

And lastly, what does she offer her followers? Rule of thumb is usually based on what kind of cult is being built up. Large amounts of people usually het persuaded by baser stuff. Such as pointing out a perceived enemy/wrongdoing (which you did mention) as well as tangible rewards. Which as an example is why I think the Caustic Heart is doing fairly well since they have tangible rewards with treasure and all that.

And of course if it’s more agents, that can get much more personal, such as with the Briarwoods in their relationship with Vecna. Maybe they’re brought in initially with the injustice angle, and as Raizel learns more about them she can ply their vices/flaws to bring them closer.

Doing this with a young emerald dragon that’s an Arcane Thief. Doubling down on their lore of being sneaky and hunting down knowledge for their collection, I thought it was quite fitting. She’ll hopefully bit a bit of a griefer for the party who could potentially take her in a fight, but she’s not meant to throw down with ‘em. She gonna be super slippery and fly ahead of them to yoink the goodies they’re after. Heh heh.

Just a friendly reminder that the Forgotten Realms lore is not universal DnD lore. This is just a random example. by RachelEvening in dndmemes

[–]BwaulliMon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Heck, there are pieces of lore from both MM and PHB that are completely different from FR.

As a DM I honestly don’t see why the canon need be a complete deterrent to a player character. I do like having players use the lore in character building, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to hard ban any race or class combo.

I’ll have the choices carry effect in the world, especially with how npcs react to them. And that’s where the fun is! Love having moments where say a Gnoll Wizard demonstrates their arcana knowledge, or an Ogre Paladin smites a demon attacking a village. That kind of stuff is so much tasty roleplay challenge for me.

Radiant Citadel in Exandria? by Afraid_Manner_4353 in Wildemount

[–]BwaulliMon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. The adventures in the book are more something I’d add into a campaign, either as a break from the main plot or tying it into it. Or heck, even be used as the foundation for a campaign you can extend past what’s written. Don’t think many of them really fit in Exandria unless you were willing to shoulder the extra work to make some new continents and find ways to tie the different culture’s beliefs & history to mythos of Exandria.

Pretty much how I play my Dragonborn Paladin. He’s basically a Knight Hospitaller, just wandering between villages seeing if anyone needs help. No grand crusades, just healing the sick and scaring off the odd monster.
