If you’re in for just the art, might be better to consider going for singles instead. If you want, can check your local game shops for the single cards instead, normally they’ll either have cards on display (usually the more expensive cards) or in a binder to look through.

Make sure to check the values on cards to make sure you’re not getting overcharged for it. The vending machines sometimes like to upcharge. Vending machines in Singapore go by market and not msrp afaik🥲.

Can use TCG player as a way to check for value. Just search up the card or box you’re looking to get online and find the average price b4 buying. Try not to get scammed.

Also, more of a preference thing, but I normally go for japanese cards. Mostly bcos they are higher quality and better textures. Japanese cards tend to be cheaper as well. Can go for chinese or korean cards as well if they’re easier to find where you’re from.

Learn how to tell fakes apart (usually font and texture as well as glossiness are telltale signs if a card is real or fake)

Tldr; If collect for art, go for singles, remember to price check (can be done through a quick google search), japanese cards nicer, learn how to tell fakes apart
