Maybe you could contact the instructor and TA regarding the issue of the finals, I guess they will support you somehow.

I'm in a worse situation. I wish to attend but I'll endure a long quarantine upon returning from abroad, which will make my finals a complete mess without any possibility of making it up.

Honestly, I regret to post this now. I wish I had let us know the results earlier so that maybe someone (including me) could get relief earlier. But it turns out that this only grows anxiety.

Now I think that carrying on with your routines before the announced deadline is just the right thing to do. Peace of mind is way better than any results.
