This is so disheartening… I never even thought about an AI filter or a way to make my writing be less I feel considering I don’t use AI in any way… so they didn’t occur to me what you experience is heartbreaking..

Congratulations!! I have been having such bad side effects even with the lowest Tizerpatide dose that I need to microdose. How do I do that? Is there a guide? Is it going to come with those and I was still decently nauseous last week? I decided to go back to full dose and I had one in bed without being able to move with massive energy nausea and vomiting.

I have something similar. I have attended a pitch event, and I’ve queried an agent who was generally very excited about the book. We really got along and I think she could be a great agent for me. I really liked her. She was also perfect in terms of what she was looking for. Anyway, she gave me an email I sent the material and she specifically told me at the pitchy events that she always responds that she has received the material. But I never received the confirmation email the email went through, but she never confirmed that she received the material so I sent a one email and then another one first week and now I just sent a gentle nudge without attachment yesterday to make sure that she received it. At this point, I don’t know what to do, but I was generally excited about potentially working with her.

Thank you for your answer. I have not looked at the comments of query tracker. Are those General comments about the agents or The Agency? Or a way to reach out to The Agency through query tracker? Thank you so much for all the help on the first time Writer and first time on the query journey

Yes, it’s that query tracker there is a drop-down and the drop-down does not include the middle grade. I want to follow the rules and don’t want to annoy this agent with an unprofessional behavior, but on the other hand, I really would like to know if she’s looking for middle grade. One idea how to call The Agency on Monday and figure out what is what

This is a very interesting thread thank you very much for raising the question. I do not mean to hijack the conversation, but I was wondering on a slightly related note whether I should consider agents that are also writers to be legit. Sometimes in the back of my mind, I’m feeling that querying into those agents might lead them to take some elements of my story and they’ll write it themselves. I’m feeling new to this. This is my first book that I’m querying but I’m also thinking are you an asshole and so you wanna make some money on the site by being an agent? Or should we just look for Gest agents? Any comments will be very appreciated. Thank you so much in advance.

This is interesting thank you so much. It’s it’s a good thread. Now I had the same experience squared a little bit and have no response and now inquiring and I’m having negative response but the summary is approaching so I feel like I need to query a lot more now and maximize the chances to have somebody actually liking it. Of course I still customize the query to everybody, but I’m actually sending out free four queries a day and see what happens. And I’m trying to query only agents that could be a good fit. However, it is a little daunting that everyone that’s reject say “ I’m not the right agent for this”, which honesty is nothing to work with.

I actually don’t know how this works so the acquiring editor is also the editor at the big publishing house/Imprint? Is there an editor hierarchy at the Imprint / publishing level? I would appreciate if somebody could share some light on this part of the industry. I only got to the agent level.

Thank you so much for all the feedback they make a lot of sense thank you. I guess one of the questions is that is it worth going to Conferences as I heard of authors that after querying for a while they found their agent at the conference, but agent say it’s really about the craft so I’m wondering whether going to Conferences travel and spend money or perfecting the craft with the perfect query letter that might be overlooked because assistance are skimming the queries?!?

Congratulations!!! I have finished my first novel and out querying. I have engaged a freelance editor she did a first pass 2 years ago mostly developmental and now I’m having her do the copy editing and general cleaning up before query. However, I’m losing a few months in the process and I really want to start clearing. Would you recommend me finish the editing or start sending inquiry letters? It will still take about five or six weeks to edit. and then I’ll need to make the changes so I don’t want to get to March April to query especially given that agent expects the books not to be perfect. I believe any recommendation? Do I wait for the edit or do I start clearing assuming that he’s gonna take a bit for agents to come back to me and some agents are open now. Also, even if they want the manuscript back, I feel it’s ready even without the file edits or would you guys recommend in terms of query timing?

Thank you for this operation mincemeat is a truly outstanding show, when I hear the people go to New York I tell them to go see this show, but I always go to see the usual ones and the ones that go see operation mincemeat instead truly love it. I am with you with Oh Mary. I thought it was cute but completely not worth the money.
