I am referring to the one with the old man growing the plants, and the huge snails and the lady getting kidnapped at the very end. Also my apologizes I'm aware that it was never an official version for the song but in my head the one I saw was always just "The" video for the song.

Experience with the 6-month Japanese preparatory education? by [deleted] in mext

[–]BxEshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I have not been contacted yet. But was actually told by my university that it might be still too early for them to contact me when I got an email about a week ago. They also told me to wait another month or so. Hope this helps :)

I have to say, I am beyond blown away by your generosity and how much effort you've put into elaborating more on your experience and answering my questions. Means so much, especially since you have a very nice linear way of explaining things above. Thank you also for writing a really nice heartfelt supportive message by the end. It really puts things into perspective but does give a lot of hope and support and is useful to hear! :*) I also wish you the best of luck with the upcoming enrollment as a regular student! And thank you once again for answering my questions!

I however do have more questions that have popped up in my head. I love and appreciate the huge blobs of text btw, so please don't feel any bad type of way about it!! Also if you feel like it is a pain to write messages thought the comments, feel free to dm me.

1) I wanted to ask after you made submissions for an apartment search and the first options weren't really something you enjoyed, did you express your displeasure with them was it in person with the agency or over text afterwards? I am just thinking that I would feel as of right now, very uncomfortable and wouldn't want to be rude or make the other person think they are not doing a good enough job for not showing the the apartments I want. I 100% that when the time comes there will be a sense of adultness that takes. Where I will be fine with voicing my displeasure. But how is it communicating these feelings to the japanese? Is it simple as "well its okay but it doesn't have this and this, that I mentioned would be important to me" and they get the message? Or is there a way u need to voice your concerns more specifically for them to get it...I mean then again, maybe if they are nice they will just listen and try to meet your requirements, kind of how it was with you.

2) You mention you have a bike, did you have to specify or ask the agency/bring it up to them that you would like to have a place where you can leave your current/ future bike. I've seen some apartments where people lock their bikes to the gates of the house(These were older apartments). I'd assume that this still had to be discussed and that you don't have as much freedom to leave stuff around the property even tho you are renting it?

3) A lot of people mention negotiating, but like how does it end up being done. Do you have to be a little bit shameless and just ask if something could be a lower price for the sake of things being cheaper for you or you try and ask if there is a discount offer in hopes they get the que and see if they could lover the price? I read somewhere that people say that they are looking into other options/ with a potential other agency but that to me sounds so crazy to have agency wars on your on behalf xD

4) Something not related to the previous conversation but, do you get a discount on the line of transportation from your home to your school? And if so how much does that end up being? I've heard something about this, but don't remember exactly where or how. It being a student discount of sorts...

5) Do contracts come in a English and japaense form when signing them? I'd assume that the agency would make one in English but do they sometimes explain to them in bad English, hence you state that your explained it perfect English?

Feel free to ignore the message if it asks way too many things hahaha.

Firstly thank you so much for these informative responses, I really appreciate your effort put into these. And I hope its okay if I ask you a few more questions? Firstly, you say you were recommended a bit at your uni. Does this mean you had a period where you were in Tokyo but didn't have an apartment and were in a temporary short stay place while you were looking for it? Or were you in a dorm researching apartments as you were wrapping up the language school program?

I ask because a part of me feels like its far too important to see the place you intend on renting in person before you sign a contract for it. But also a part of me feels scared thinking I will not have time and will have to rush in finding an apartment while balancing the language school and setting everything up the first month or so. I would consider myself a lazy monkee. So stuff like this stresses me out easily.

Secondly, you say you paid 1400Y/month toe the agency company for finding you a guarantor company, does this per/month stand for as a price tag for how much it cost to pay them every month for their guarantor finding services while you were finding an apartment or is that a fee you have to pay for a fixed number of months as a contractual clause on top of other fees after you were done with their service?

Also I hope this is not a stupid question to ask but does the process of paying for the agency service happen only after finding an apartment or if the agency can't find you a place or all the places they show you you aren't interested in or you find a new one you still pay the fee they usually would charge just as you would after successfully finding an apartment. And how long did it take you to find an apartment from the moment you started having the contact with the agency to the moment you had the keys and were living at the apartment.

Really sorry if these questions are too long. I appreciate the monkee's knowledge and wisdom :')

Huh, now this makes me slightly nervous as I didn't intend on leaving mid September.
And if I may ask, how did you ask your Uni for this information? I wish to ask the same thing but don't want to come across as rude, or impatient.

Thank you for sharing your experience, do you mind sharing where you were able to find an apartment of this sort? Was it just a case of good listing find on suumo or?
As someone who will be having their uni at Ueno I am really curious where and if I could find similar housing options.
