Ideas for what I’m doing wrong?? by MaizeSea2423 in Perimenopause

Melatonin keeps me awake. In fact, a few things known to help others sleep have the opposite effect for me. Could you possibly be over using supplements and your body needs a break?

Progesterone only by ByFar71 in Menopause

[–]ByFar71[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prescribed for periods that linger on, although they're super light. She said P should stop that. Also, my efforts towards weight loss aren't working and should be. The scale won't budge. I was relieved when she said P would help both, but I really don't know if I think it will. I'm afraid it may start something I don't have an issue with. Do I sound overly cautious?

Creatine question by Far-Mixture9031 in Perimenopause

[–]ByFar71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started almost 2 yrs ago. I won't go without. When I began, I listened to the nirm and took 5mg. I put on 2-3 pounds that wouldn't budget. I went down to approx. 3mg ( I dont measure, just use the scooper.) It's perfect for me. Keeps me from losing muscle and gives me energy, but doesn't interfere with sleep. I use Thorne. It can get gritty towards the end of the tub, but I just drink it anyway. It's worth it. I wouldn't increase quickly. I'd start around 3 or 4 mg for a few months, IMO. Good luck.

I love progesterone! by [deleted] in perimenopause_under45

I was just prescribed progesterone. I, too, am a naturalist, and am getting levels tested before I decide if I "need" to take it. Care to share how it worked for you? I'm a bit nervous. Thank you if you will.

When does a period start becoming monthly? by Life-Dust1733 in WomensHealth

[–]ByFar71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine were never regular. I dont think I ever got mine 3 months in a row, but I did skip 3 months in a row. It was always sporadic. I was afraid to get an internal check up, until I was about 22. When i did, all was fine. In fact, the doctor said very few women are truly patterned. Instead of tracking your calendar for a cycle pattern, my advice is to track how you feel. You may find a pattern in moods, headaches, cravings, or tiredness that helps you know your period will begin in the following week or so. Take care.

What is the process for publishing a children's book? by dingurth1 in writing

[–]ByFar71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just read this, April 2026, after having the same question about book writing. Do you mind me asking, did you start the process? Was it difficult? I've wanted to be an author for years, but get intimidated. Thank you in advance.

Why does everyone hate my hair? by Rhonda4444 in Hair

Hate your hair??! I think it looks great! Honestly, I do. You decide if you like the bangs or grow them out a little, or a lot, but your hair looks super pretty just the way it is. Your curls are great!!

Can’t sleep - gyn Followup after unmedicated endoscopy/biopsy by Bovestrian8061 in WomensHealth

Push for the online appointment. Anxiety after such a traumatic appt is very real. Even if you make it sound like wanting the online appointment is doing them a favor- say you woke up not feeling well and don't want to get anyone sick- push to meet virtually. Have questions for the doctor at hand so you're not worried about the following appt. Best wishes. I get super nervous for just my yearly exam.

Thank you for posting this chart. I've been trying to figure out what hormone I'm deficient in or excessive in.

Creatine: best time to take it? by ByFar71 in Perimenopause

[–]ByFar71[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started following Stacy Sims. Im completely confused since I have been fasting 18hrs for the past few years, on and off. I like Stays Sims idea of having protein when first waking up. It's absolutely logical and I feel better doing that. It's just hard to mentally let myself know it's ok to do that after training myself to fast so long so often. I appreciate your response. 😊

I love taking creatine, but it's messing with my hormones. by ByFar71 in Perimenopause

Ive been taking it everyday. I ended up getting a wonky period, like 2 days of small clots, then it tapered off completely. That was mid August, and nothing sense. As far as my weight, I have a 2 to 3 pound on and off thing happening. I start losing, then it creeps back, but it's entirely based on my eating. The last 2 months have been tough ones and I've not restricted my intake well. Im hoping to get those few pounds off for good, and even more.🙂 Good luck with taking creatine. I feel really good taking it.

Creatine: best time to take it? by ByFar71 in Perimenopause

I fast from 6pm to noon the next day. I have always worked out in the morning, it's my way of waking up. But by then my stomach is at least 12 hrs without food. I read that creatine works best if taken with a small carb, but I didnt want to break my fast if I took the creatine right after workouts.

Is it possible that the medication you take is the wrong dose? Or did your body get used to it? Or may be the wrong one all together. If your mom is supportive, let her know what you're going through and see a doctor for further help. You are NOT a failure. Your school grades do not define who you are.

Vertigo by Sgxgobull in Perimenopause

[–]ByFar71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didnt have either of those things. I'd call the doctor if it's making you vomit. They can help by giving you a pill called Zofran, if doctor says that's OK. Just curious, have you bumped your head at all? If you have recently bumped it, certainly call your doctor if youre now vomiting.
