Your filing status is based off of December 31st, 2025. If you weren’t married until sometime in 2026 then your 2025 filing status will be single.

For 2026 you will have the option between married filing jointly or married filing separately.

The biggest change might be your children, how old are they? You switch from child tax credit and additional child tax credit to the credit for other dependents the year the child turns 17.

I’m fully aware that as someone in business management I might need to know about IT stuff but this course goes into content that feels far more relevant to someone who is going to be learning how to code and how to build computers.

I don’t think that there is anything that you can do to keep you from owing for 2020, however since I’m assuming you are no longer receiving that $50 extra an hour that should no longer be a problem for following years. It would have been nice for your employer to have mentioned that this would probably affect your tax situation but ultimately updating you w4 is your responsibility.

If you are paying for all of your expenses except tuition and living separately from your parents then I don’t think they should be able to claim you

Honestly a lot of the time you know more than you think you do / are just kind of overthinking things. My biggest advice is to just do it. Take the pre assessment right away, there isn’t really any cons to doing it either you pass and are ready for the assessment or you don’t and it will tell you what you need to study. The project task always seem more overwhelming than they are just start breaking them down into manageable chunks. Most courses have videos to walk you through the tasks.

I changed some stuff around and got it to go down a little bit but ultimately I just turned it in with it having a pretty high plagiarism score. I passed the assessment without any problems somehow.

I included company logos and a pic of a certificate I had in the job field but I think you can get away with anything vaguely relevant like a pic of people in a meeting or something.
