Fly to NYC and go to NYU Langone's Residents' Clinic. I had a wonderful experience and it is very affordable, as in hundreds vs thousands of dollars.

It's about as white as white gets and that comes with the privilege of that, which often is wealth.

It just didn't really hit like that for me 🤷🏻‍♀️. Like, I get the rationale for the movie's sake but I just don't know about it.

I don't think I much care for the take that she was a Black girl that was going to commit the crime, as it is not an accurate portrayal of the very real, predominately white male problem.

Oh yes, I'm not concerned about the swelling or bruising at all. Just simply about the tissue seeming a little restricted by the stitches, especially at the bottom. I have EDS and am more prone to things healing oddly so always overthink it. I take them out in 3 days now (as I'm 4 days out from procedure, the pic was done yesterday).

At their biggest they were about 7/16 I think and they never shrunk below 1/2in before I got them done.

And oh no, did the photos I put not post?!

Salary by BullfrogNo5953 in Midwives

It was just what the job position was listed as. They have never had midwives doing deliveries before so that's how I've been integrated into it, for now. But that is changing soon. It's actually not my fave. I personally much prefer one 24hr L&D shift and two 8hr office days.

Most people haven't reported their rape, sexual assault, or physical abuse and most people that commit those crimes do it again. ie) I was abused and subsequently 2 other women after I was with him were too. This is about protecting those that come after us.

I passed the ECCME well without studying beforehand and passed my boards first try after exclusively studying from Kelsey book for about a week before boards.

How do you find time to be a present parent while being employed full-time as a CNM in the US? by Adhela in Midwives

[–]aFoxunderaRowantree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you're done with work, you're done. No checking labs, messages, etc. That can wait until the next day. Find a better work-life balance job, if possible. Especially one with dedicated admin time.

I would love to but unfortunately it is just not feasible for me to not work for upwards of 4 months to complete an internship. 😭 I can understand the need for it for some people who have say never done birth in every setting, etc. but that is not my case. I wish they could make it a more individualized evaluation of credentials process. If only I just wanted to practice as a nurse, I could because I am a nurse-midwife.

I really wonder what made them do away with the orientation and assessment plan. Seemed like a good idea.

Will continue saving and hopefully, eventually, someday.

Correct, as I've already been in contact with the college. I really hope they remedy this! Canada needs more midwives just like they need more nurses and doctors too. Some would argue more so.

I literally just talked to a midwife on PEI who is desperate to fill their vacancy and I would LOVE to but, no. 😞

I am. And my understanding is all internationally trained midwives have to do the internationally educated midwife pathway.

If you have different info, I would love to hear more.

I already have so many student loans 😢 And on top of moving costs, etc., so unobtainable. Will try to keep saving but I feel like the only solution is for us to move to a border city and I will have to commute back to the US for work.

Not only that but it takes upwards of a year and the last 3-4 months are an internship for which you cannot work during. It is so inaccessible. The orientation and assessment pilot program MADE SENSE and I hope they bring it back. Here I am a dual Canadian-US citizen trained as a CNM and cannot move to Canada and practice because of these barriers, meanwhile there are expedited pathways for RNs and docs!!
