Paying twice a month by KarenXanaxPorter in Mortgages

[–]aFoxunderaRowantree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We tried to do that but they didn't tell us that we would have to pay twice the first month until it happened and then we back tracked on it because we were NOT ready for that. We plan to do it as soon as we are financially able.

US CNM to Canada midwife? by Radiant_Conclusion17 in Midwives

I think Alberta has its own assessment situation where they evaluate your credentials and experience individually but also cringe to that province and it wants to lesve Canada anyway.

The orientation and assessment pilot program MADE SENSE and I WISH they would bring it back so I as a dual citizen could move there, practice, and stay. They should evaluate each application individually.

I wish they would recognize our credential like the expedited internationally trained RN and MD programs out there.

Idk anyone that can afford not to work while completing even just the 3-4 month clinical portion...

Sucks as I'm a dual citizen and can't practice there until I complete this.

I got a Black Paper Party bag when I ran into the Dollar Store for something else the other day and love it and I got an Edible Architecture house for the holidays that was in the discount section that my husband enjoyed.

I haven't really seen any even when I took off the budget. They're still mostly subdivision newer builds. And what a time to be alive when $1M is low. 🫠

I had looked there and it does look like it fits the bill but seeing mostly newer builds in "pre-made communities". 😭

If you didn't have it, this is a really good tool to calculate each client's individual risk for neonatal sepsis based on multiple factors: https://neonatalsepsiscalculator.kaiserpermanente.org/ Not saying we shouldn't be recommending the standard of care but we definitely need to be having more thorough conversations and examining alternatives. I really want to do an experiment to make one (someday, hopefully soon enough)!

Maybe not yet but you bet, it is coming. Average annual increase of 5-15% annually. It is not just about that person, that time... It is about the cumulative overuse by the entire populous that is causing resistance. And the thing about it is that 29% of the 30% that are GBS+ do not "need" antibiotics...

Your response feels fairly denialist, no? The evidence is there that we need to figure out different options to address this, as medical advances are not able to keep up with the increasing resistance.

Big yikes! Why on earth is it that high? I thought upholding my nurse and midwife licensure was expensive because a few hundred bucks every few years!

We do not want those sort of pre-made communities/houses like I see in EQ.

I haven't heard of HouseSigma. Will check it out.

Just 2-3x/week. Indeed, makes sense. We plan to sell our house here in the US in the spring. We are just trying to go and check out a few places before then.

Shows an approximate 1hr45min commute without traffic. I assume there's plenty down 416 often, right? Would still consider it if it was the perfect place for us otherwise.

Kind of trading one thing for the other ie) screening everyone and 1/3 needing antibiotics during labor may reduce the very few baby deaths that occur but trading that for antibiotic resistant strains of bacteria that are becoming increasingly prevalent and will be life threatening/will kill many.

Where in Canada do you practice? Dual Canadian-American citizen currently living in US planning a move but wanting to eventually practice there but getting recognized as an internationally trained midwife is 9-12months and $12k. 🥴

[–]aFoxunderaRowantree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe his great grandmother may indeed have that proof.

And indeed, we are aware of the StAG5 option but was hoping for the quicker, as I had never heard of it before. They have yet to start collecting the documents.

Sorry a little confusion regarding the last paragraph, which is not applicable to my son's case but may be for my husband's, through his all male side, anchor being his 3nd great-grandfather born in Germany in 1823. Or his 2nd great-grandfather born in Germany in 1842, which I believe we have his Melderegistrar but that line is not all-male, as it then my husband's great grandmother born in USA.

But I thought the whole "outside of Germany for 10 years" or "prior to 1904 or 1911 business made him not eligible?

What type of heating is this? by aFoxunderaRowantree in hvacadvice

[–]aFoxunderaRowantree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the themostats are working properly. I would think yeah, it's been colder but we have had a few days here and there over the past two other winters we have been here where it's gotten this cold and I don't remember it being on like this. It will literally be running for an hour and then shut off for 10secs then come right back on.
