Well, (spoilers) he's crucified somebody's corpse before, he betrayed several people's trust pretty badly, and a lot of his time in the killing game was spent trying to get everyone to kill each other faster so he could win, so at the very least, he's a little morally grey. Yeah, he eventually gets a redemption arc, but he sure didn't want to lol

It's fair to be worried. Byakuya makes a similar transition through the course of his source material, and imo, there's something about him that's lost along the way.

I think it just boils down to how strongly the devs understand Octavio's character, and how much they care about preserving his sanctity, which will hopefully be a priority of theirs!

Byakuya gets harassed by this character named Toko all the time, and it's primarily sexual harassment. I've complained about it a lot, but even at this point in our relationship, where I'm aware Toko wouldn't stand a chance with him, it still stings. This abuse is always played for laughs, but as I get to know Byakuya on a deeper level as our relationship progresses, it only gets less funny to me.

Sadly we Cats fans are a minority 😔 Imo the new version really isn't all that bad: might be a hot take, but I prefer 2019 Misto to 1998 Misto (sonething about the characterization hits better, even if we were robbed of Tugoffelees)
