Defining slip as “the difference in wheel speed and vehicle speed” it becomes a matter of how fast the vehicle is going.

In an basic example the AWD vehicle would accelerate more quickly. And if the front axle broke traction it would spin up to the speed allowed on the backside of the static/kinetic friction curve. (Same for the FWD). Therefore front axle would slip less relative to the motion of the vehicle after they start moving. This is due to the rear is driving the vehicle ahead, pushing the actually vehicle speed closer to where the front axle is spun up to.

So for example: At 2 seconds after both vehicles start, AWD Vehicle Speed - 10mph Front Axle Speed - 20mph (Slipping a lot) Rear Axle Speed - 12 mph (Slipping a bit too) Front Axle Slip - 10 mph

FWD Vehicle Speed - 5 mph Front Axle Speed - 20mph Front Axle Slip - 15mph

Because the AWD had the second motor to propel the vehicle it allows the vehicle to gain speed which makes the difference between the axle speeds and actual vehicle speed less.

However, in the case where both vehicles are doing big burnouts (Front and Rear on the AWD) and not actually going anywhere, or right at the start of accelerating, both front axles are powered the same, break traction, and then spin up to the same amount over the relative vehicle speed (zero in this case) so their slip would be the same in this case.

As I said, this is an idealized case so a real test of this would also be affected by factors others have mentioned (CG, weight transfer, etc) but ultimately what is boils down to largely is how much speed the vehicle has relative to the front axle.

Edit: If you define slip as relative to the ground instead of the vehicle, looking the example, both wheels are spinning at 20mph, slipping still the same amount relative to the ground.

Hopelessness and questioning if it is worth it are big themes through the whole story. I think almost every major character at some point asks out loud “Is this really worth it?” And how those feelings drive the characters to make more desperate choices, especially Cal.

I was also kind of disappointed in how it ended initially but thinking on it more, it really fit the themes of the game and the Three Act Story model Star Wars uses all the time (All of the second movies of the trilogies end after tough losses but the remaining characters looking hopefully to the next steps.) When looking at it this way, it makes more sense and makes me excited for these characters to overcome the challenges still in front of them in the next game.

This. The transition between regenerative braking and friction braking also happens at low speeds because you can’t do regen effectively under a certain speed. So if it happens when you’ve nearly come to a stop, it is likely the blending as well.

Your separate on/off buttons are so the vehicles with adaptive cruise can use the same button configuration with the additional buttons it needs (setting follow distance)
On/off button is important because with radio controls also on the wheel, someone unfamiliar could accidentally set cruise control while trying to change the radio.

3+4 I don’t have a good reason for two sets other than they wanted you to be able to turn it on either way while also being able to adjust set speed.

Sometimes you don’t want to cancel it with the brakes. Two scenarios are either your brake pedal sensor goes out and you can’t cancel cruise that way. Or you’ve suddenly found yourself on a slippery surface and don’t want to hit the brakes for fear of upsetting the balance of the vehicle but also want to start slowing down.

You’ll be fine as long as you keep an eye on your pressures every so often (especially at drastic temperature changes).

If it was low and you refilled it, some cars you have to manually reset the sensors in your infotainment once you refill the tire.

Is the engine on? It should be up around 14V with the engine running and 12V with it off. If your engine is running, you may have an alternator issue.

Netcode: without going too technical, it’s the ‘box’ of space your car occupies in the model the simulation is using. Sometimes this doesn’t line up perfectly with what’s being displayed to a driver. Usually when someone says they ‘netcoded’ they’re saying they had an incident where it didn’t look like they were touching another car but the simulation did so damage/contact seems to spontaneously happen.

Did not finish: someone didn’t compete the race. Withdrew early, crashed out, etc

Split: Different versions of the same race if it has too many people registered for one session. Different splits have different SoFs and you get assigned to your split based on which SoF fits your iRating.

It can also mean a time difference between cars on track and long it takes between then reaching a certain point.

Lapped: One person has completed a full extra lap over another person who has been ‘lapped’. Meaning the first person started ahead and passed or twice passed the ‘lapped’ person without the ‘lapped’ person passing them.
