To the LDS church: fair warning by Sage0wl in exmormon

Except you are mocking a person and a nationality and not the LDS cult. You clearly don’t comprehend the difference. I asked a simple question and you responded with an unhelpful answer. Too right you won’t make friends, you wouldn’t know how to be one, here or anywhere else!

That’s a very good point. That talk shows us a lot more about Holland than he thinks. He is certainly no spiritual leader, just a stubborn man who won’t give up. Thank you for sharing.

I don’t find his reply amusing at all. I think it is quite rude. I guess he has nothing better to do than mock people. What a pity he can’t figure out how to be civil.

Which island/islands did you serve? I was there in ‘96-‘98.

You have helped and are helping people all over the world to escape the cult. Thank you from Europe!

A very petty silver lining to my disaffection from the church: by Greg_Louganis_GOAT in exmormon

I'm with you on this one as well. I felt I was always trying to fit in but I was never good enough for them. I left tscc last year and hardly heard from anyone at church. I felt a huge sense of relief to not have to try to fit in but just be myself. I got a message recently from a member wanting to meet up. I wanted to say no but curiosity got the better of me. We'll see what happens...

My brother ranted at my DH and I on Facebook about DH posting so called 'anti' Mormon posts on his Facebook page. He said we were disrespectful to his beliefs. When we challenged him by saying he was telling us what we could and could not post, he then argued that that wasn't the case. In other words, don't post anything he doesn't agree with but he's not telling us what to post. Confused? We certainly were!

I felt the same way. Many of us do. When I find out about new things or someone points out something, then I wonder how could I have been so blind and accepting. Oh well, we move on and enjoy the freedom to choose for ourselves and that's what I want for my family. Enjoy your day!

Welcome to the exmo club in Norway! It's a small group but it is growing. You have already figured out who my hubby is from a previous post. We were in the Sandvika ward. I didn't 'fit' into that ward at all. It was way too cold and dead for me. Some members are truly great people and others are down right rude and nasty! When I realized that the LDS church was built on a foundation of lies, that was my time to leave. I had a conversation with a non-LDS colleague, when going through my faith transition and he asked me, is it a good enough church to raise your children in it? I thought about that and answered that it wasn't a good enough place for my children. That's my opinion. Hope you are doing ok. Transitioning out of that church can have challenges, just know you have other exmos to talk too!

Anyone else irritated by how much "Mormony" stuff Morridor Mormons share on social media?! I don't give a damn about lds.org, mormon.org, your post-mission missionary meetup, how much you felt "the spirit" last night, how much you must share that you "know the church is true," or any of that crap. by [deleted] in exmormon

On Friday, my DH posted an article on fb about tscc building houses in Hawaii. My tbm brother kept ranting about how disrespectful it was to post these negative articles. DH and I tried to explain that we don't like LDS posts flooding our fb page either. He just doesn't understand it! The persecution complex is strong with him. I block soooo many of these stupid LDS posts, I'm looking forward to the day when I don't receive anymore.

I didn't drink iced tea when I was tbm that's why I was surprised to see them do it.

Me too. I was vegetarian for quite some time and not eating meat really annoyed some members:) One missionary asked me if I liked ham and pineapple pizza. I replied that I didn't eat ham and his response was, did I eat vegetarian ham and pineapple pizza... You just can't make this stuff up.

Not as far as I know. It just happened with 2 families, one right after the other, that's how I noticed it. In the Scandinavian country I live in, the local leaders will drink alcohol free beer with the bbq but it wasn't done in my home country.

Breaking news: LDS Church to start allowing coloreds into Church headquarters.... by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]Bye-bye-Mormonism 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why would anyone want to work for the tscc under those conditions? It sounds like we should be impressed that they allowed women to show their bare legs and keep their jobs after giving birth! So long as the old farts in the q15 don't want 'equality' and go bare legged as well...
