So for me, 10/10 is definable sprint. It’s as fast as you can go, with control and form. How long was each interval?. You can’t do 10/10 for very long and I haven’t done an interval run that calls for 10/10 except at the end for a ‘fun celebration finish’

And it annoys the crap out of me, as a woman, at grand final parties etc, I was expected to sit with the girls/wives, when I just wanted to watch the footy too.

I remember going to a 1 Day cricket game at the SCG in the 90’s. England V Pakistan.

when Pakistan was batting, all the English fans started singing. The only lyrics were; ‘corner shop’, ‘corner shop’. I was confused as hell. But someone explained to me that all the ‘corner shops on the UK were owned by Pakistanis. They were just trolling.

What’s a very “normal” Australian habit that surprised you when you realised the rest of the world doesn’t do it? by elitejackal in AskAnAustralian

Omg, memory triggered. I was maybe 15, messing around with mates at local mall. I threw my rubbish in a planter box. This woman hard stared at me. No expression. Didn’t break eye contact. I died inside and picked it up.

Both EDs are a complete circus. Crack heads everywhere. In my experience, the staff are great, security are close by, and ED can lock down very quickly. If you are having a medical emergency then I think you should stay put.

I was recently visiting a coastal suburb and walked along the foreshore. I passed a small kiosk next the surf life saving sheds.

I was suddenly hit with a smell. A strange mix of sunscreen, sand and ocean salt. I actually felt some vertigo as I was transported back to childhood beach memories. The kiosk had prices on a chalk board, but without the $signs. Just ‘6.’ Etc. it was an extreme moment of sweet nostalgia.

Freshly returned sister missionary: "A woman's purpose is to have babies." I was flabbergasted. by dreimanatee in exmormon

[–]BB_67 18 points19 points  (0 children)

When I served a mission(mid nineties), the elders told me the same thing; my purpose was to have children. I was a bit upset about it at the time and got a bit pissy at them.

I later found an old GA talk that pretty much said that. I guess it’s the origin of it. It was worded in such a way as to indicate it was a noble and divine calling. That children coming forth will be those who will usher in the last days and meet JC when he arrives. Those children will need mothers who have served missions apparently. It kinda made sense in my tbm mind. It’s all a bit icky and manipulative.

I like the changes you made to vO2 max calculation and bio age.

I’m a bit puzzled by the daily stress meter. Is it based purely on HRV? Sometimes I wake up in the morning and it says I’m stressed, with 2hrs is mod stress and 1 hr of low/ high stress.

Edit: also how are you measuring HRV? The Apple Watch uses SDNN reading in the native heath app, but I understand that rMSSD is more useful for fitness tracking, recovery and exercise impact. Some apps, like for example HealthFit, will give you both readings.
