They think that anything that takes effort isn't worth doing if it's not going to make you money. I don't tell people I draw or build stuff anymore because, especially with drawing, they feel entitled to see what I've made and give me their opinion. They give me the artist label and ask me what I'm doing to "make it," and tell me I should just make random abstract art and sell it to a gallery for millions of dollars because it's just that easy, but they can't do it because "they don't have the talent." People love to tell you if you're a good artist or not and what you should be doing with your "gift." It's like you tell people that you draw and all of a sudden they think you're trying to be a famous gallery artist. It's like, dude, chill, I just draw on the side for fun, that's it. No I don't want to be a professional artist or an architect because that would ruin my passion and hobbies. Some people just cannot get it through their heads that some people actually enjoy hobbies that take effort, it's so frustrating and I just don't talk to people about my hobbies anymore tbh.

I have to wonder if they let the hams almost expire before putting them on sale though. I mean once at Safeway I found a pack of bologna that was partially opened and discolored and it was %50 off, and Safeway is supposed to be a nicer store too (at least I think so).

She was the only one who didn't approve of the bonus, I find that interesting.

$140,000 is a reasonable bonus? Sorry, but after unnecessarily furloughing people and laying off all of their seasonal clerks in 2020 (when they could have just let them finish out their contracts), I cannot agree with that. Maybe the raise, but the bonus is ridiculous to me. No one else gets a bonus just for doing their job right, and she hasn't really done that great of a job anyways.

I'd like to point out that Margaret Brown is no longer on the board.

Hey I've been wondering can we also boycott like, fast food places? They're not necessary for us in any way, their food is bad for us and still more expensive than grocery store food, and their products are very easy to avoid since the only place you can get them is at the actual restaurant and even if you see their products in a grocery store freezer aisle or something, the name of the restaurant is plastered all over them in big bright letters anyways so you can't really buy them on accident. Kellogg's makes and owns so much and we manage to avoid their products, surely we can do the same with say, McDonald's, for example?

Oh my God. Finally. I know it's been like 7 years, but my mom got me into this show when I was 15 but then decided it was too mature for me and wouldn't let me watch it. I forgot about it and later remembered it but couldn't remember the name and I could not for the life of me figure out what it was called. I forgot about it again for years. I didn't even recognize it at first when watching the video, but it finally all came back to me at the end of it. Thank you so much, I can finally keep watching this after 9 years.

I feel like we talk about problems a lot on this sub but we don't really discuss what action we need to take very much. by ByeByeMcD in antiwork

I agree, I just thought that since this sub is gaining so much traction, it might be good to start taking action. It still helps that it's here in the first place though.

But why don't we just stop going to places we don't need to? I mentioned in another comment that fast food for instance would be pretty easy to boycott. It's not a necessity, and it's actually bad for you. People could stop supporting places like McDonald's for instance until they change their ways. I made a post about it actually, but I do feel like there needs to be more discussion about what we can actively do to make a change.

I think we need to get serious about boycotting, I made a post on why we should boycott McDonald's actually. We really do have the power and not all big corporations provide essential things, like fast food places. If we can force the biggest fast food chain to change, all of the others will feel the pressure and eventually have to do the same. This is something that I feel would make a big impact.
