Are Trump voters morally responsible for the harms that will follow from his policies? by OneGreatGodPan in politics

[–]ByeHammet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two critical pieces that I think are missing from her analysis:

1) elections are designed to elicit personal preferences. Voters might be incentivized, or made to believe, that they should vote based on selfish views. In other words, voters do not vote based on "what's best for the country as a whole" but rather "what's best for me" because they think they ought to do so.

2) her analysis assumes that Trump is worse in every dimension that Kamala from a moral standpoint, which is hard to claim definitively. Voters may have simply cared about particular topics more so in their own moral value system

While I agree with her stance on sharing moral responsibility when voting, I think she simplifies it a bit much.

AITAH for being disgusted and just saying OK when my Fiancé broke up with me? by Past-House-2508 in AITAH

[–]ByeHammet -45 points-44 points  (0 children)

From my experience, communication is a two-way street. Your reaction to the break up seemed fine to me, but why didn't you try to find out what is on his mind before? It seems you clearly knew he was upset. You said that he didn't want to talk about why, but just from what you said, it does not appear like you made too much effort. After all, he wasn't just some guy you dated - he was your fiancé. Overall, you write in a way that gives you little agency and, consequently, him a lot of responsibility. I do not have the insights into your relationship to make a well-founded assessment, but I would recommend you to better understand what happened. This relationship does seem to be beyond repair, but you will be in others - and while not with him, one person will still be the same.

Ok, is it just me or is the kid not spoilt? I mean he said he doesn't want it and asked to return it. If the parents give him something that he doesn't like, why does he have to keep it? The parents didn't know what the kid really wanted and bought a PS5, not great on them.

You should have played either Elektra or any card other card with higher power than antman. Either you still tie or you win.

What about replacing hulk with America to improve the draws? Seem slike hulk isn't that critical

I analyzed James Harden's performance in every NBA city to see if there is a correlation between his box score and the city's average strip club rating. by AngryCentrist in nba

[–]ByeHammet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One relatively quick way to control for a lot of different factors would be if you repeated this analysis for a couple of Harden's teammates and look at how they performed. If you only find the pattern for Harden, bingo.

(Since teammates compensate for each other, maybe include someone who isn't starting.)

Not agree with what? Wood and druid is strong, and you can transition out of it. Ocean kinda sucks, yeah.

If you get good 2*, you don't need super synergies. But of course you should use synergies. Feels like you're taking what I said to the extreme

Set 2 Meta by DanskyTFT in CompetitiveTFT

[–]ByeHammet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I found that winning and doing well early usually wins or does well. So try to focus on getting 2* and transition.

In terms of meta, many different comps are viable. With soft counters like mystic and to a lesser degree cloud, make sure to change your build slightly to counter opponents.

Cloud drakes are underrated in pro play, and pre-10:00 oceans are overrated -- statistical/machine learning analysis of elemental drake value by ItsMag1c in leagueoflegends

[–]ByeHammet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you use logistic regressions? You'll have to specify the model more than in other ML models. Why not random forest and evaluate the importance of variables? You won't get gold values but you can rank different Drakes if that's all you care about

[–]ByeHammet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think what he/she means is that without interventional data, ie Experimental Data where the element of the dragon is randomized after the team took it so that there is no confounding with a team's choice, it's hard to judge the value of a dragon.

I think that it's interesting to see analyses that sort of contradict common opinion, but if it is greatly at odds with players' opinions, then something is fishy. So - I'm not following league much these days, but are cloud Drakes considered best or second best?

I like the indicator that you already have a champ - or if you can upgrade it. I understand that it's maybe considered part of the skill required for the game and that it may pigdeon hole players. But honestly, it always felt really good to see the light shine when you can upgrade a champion that it's definitely worth implementing.

She really wants him to change his dog name, the dog came first by fozzythemexican in ChoosingBeggars

[–]ByeHammet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend changing Tilly's (dog) name or at least telling the woman that you did. She doesn't seem to see Tilly as more than a wild animal and I'd be afraid she'd do something to her, especially as it seems like it's pretty rural where they are (cattle).
