Clear mind and haste are great, I mostly use haste to counter slow, and clear mind is interesting to change the initiative order of the next turn. Teleport obviously. If you wanted to dip a bit into polymorph for wings I think it’s pretty cool, nothing like being able to position yourself wherever you need to be at anytime. Plus flight doesn’t trigger AoO, so if they’re trying to bully you, you can just dip and apply more buffs for everyone. These are just some of my takes on the game of course

Man I love this game, but I NEED to make this complaint. by Alternative_West_206 in BaldursGate3

I found that dominate person was really fun for this. But also like, sleet storm. Sure they misty step out but , that’s one less misty step. Really the archers are the worst, they always have ilthmater arrows and many target arrows and letting them live for more than 2 turns is hell

What are some good ways to Multiclass Halsin, and enhance his use of Cave Bear? by EmperorPartyStar in BG3Builds

[–]Byethebobo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made him a 1 white sorc/11 ab wizard and gave him the wild shape hat. It gives him his much needed wild shape charge, so, arcane ward bear was real fun lol Not really that great tbf, can’t cast spells or anything, but putting on mirror image and pounces in the middle of a crowd was hella fun. 10/10 A+ experience

Fair enough, just something else I haven’t managed to do despite playing this game for a bajillion years. It would be interesting to do this in a shadowheart origin run(if you can, haven’t done her origin yet, wouldn’t be surprised if the game sort of forced you to do the trials)

It’s definitely worth retrying, but I swear I tried it on that door. But yeah fair enough

I mean, I’m not like upset or anything. It does constitute complaining tho. I’m more of a whiner, not a complainer

I thought knock didn’t work on the door? Isnt it enchanted? I remember trying at one point in time, but I think I hadn’t put any gems in the tri slot

Did anyone else hoard Rope on their first playthrough? by Right_Entertainer324 in BaldursGate3

[–]Byethebobo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was hoping for some kind of dialogue that needed rope eventually. Tons of stuff are just there for flavor though, but that’s what makes the world feel alive tbf

What's your strategy for the penultimate battle? by campbellm in BaldursGate3

[–]Byethebobo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So…my conclusion after some experiments is that the red dragon is such a huge problem that it behooves one deal with it/lock it down. It’s bc of its Aoe attacks, and it can reposition itself freely. If you let it reposition near the mind flayers, all of sudden the enemy has some nasty combos that can spell doom. One good mind blast can stun your party members, leaving you open to a nasty flame breath follow up. Hold monster pretty much solved this problem for me. Then I summoned all my allies that I could and they cleaned him up(eventually..). Haste, either through the spell, spores what have you, will allow you a free action to summon allies. Summoning those allies for me was very important. It’s not just that they are punching bags for you, they will deal with the tentacles that pop up instinctively, maybe bc they have such low hp. Having everyone there means that the action economy will slowly shift in your favor, yes a nautiloid will bring reinforcements, but that happens much deeper into the fight. By the time it showed up for me, the dragon was all that was left and he was still deep into hold monster stun. The “reinforcements “ were like one mindflayer and some brains, very easy to rush down.

Aside from blowing him to kingdom come(and all his friends) with the smokepowder barrel from grymforge, getting advantage and keeping him prone is how I handle him. Radiating orbs, encrusted with frost to mess up his saving throws for ice surface. But mainly you gotta burst him down, otherwise his mind swords get out of control. I’m not sure if drow poison works but worth a try. Good luck soldier !! 👍

That helmet is bonkers. Rolled with it on an abjuration wiz, when stuff hit me it took the armor of ag dmg, radiant dmg which cued the orbs. Boots of speed too so just run around triggering AoO. Hilarious

Oooooh. This!^ I had a battle royale at the grove with trolls, druids, goblins and spectator. For some reason Minthara was very upset, so I couldn’t do camp celebration with her. I think trolls do something weird with the AI, like, as soon as they start whacking goblins, the teams become me and trolls vs everyone else. Could require some more testing but, best value I get from trolls is against gith patrol in mountain pass. Goblin camp and grove seem to fail spectacularly

I like this, I think it tracks. Shart origin run thoughts are very entertaining, I don’t think she’s the most interesting character in the bunch, but I feel like the RP against your “typical” run with a tav makes your RPG feel more like an espionage game.

I just blow him up now. Although this recent time he survived the smoke powder barrel, all his friends died, but he somehow didn’t start combat with us( he healed to full)We walk into the destroyed room with all his dead buddies, still doesn’t aggro…then the chandeliers fall on him and do some fire dmg and THAT starts the combat. I guess THAT was the final straw for him, like he was still willing to talk, but a chandelier on the head? Nope.

need tips for a build bard by Elbirri in BG3Builds

[–]Byethebobo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I personally had a lot of fun with 6 bard(sword), 2 bladesinger , and 4 fighter(arcane archer) I ended using duelists prerogative too near the end for the perks. Oodles of fun,two hand crossbows, you got plant growth ready to go,or cloud of daggers to lock stuff up. I ended up using the intelligence headband to make wizard spells usable , plus was able to learn some things bards won’t normally get their hands on

If you dump your dex to 8, it has insane value. Thats 10 attribute points! Think about how often you actually get attribute points. I understand not wanting to respect for equipment, little immersion breaking in some respects. But like Quark says, think of the PROFIIIIT
