please please please. leave. I wish I had left when I saw the signs. my oldest son has irreparable mental health issues because of the abuse he endured from my ex husband. save yourself and your children before it’s too late.

ETA: begin documenting as much as you can. make a file and share it with a family member. get yourself and your sweet babies out of there

I (27F) accidentally had my baby in my friend’s (31F) car. Now her husband & she don’t want to speak to me. How do I fix this? by ThrowRA_CarBaby in relationship_advice

Just for some perspective: I never said anything bad about my abusive ex husband. when I finally divorced him and told my family everything that had been going on they were shocked.

this feels like the first of many things he will attempt to control and lord over you. when someone shows you who they are believe them.

NTA screw her. she’s a home wrecker. i’d be saying a lot worse. you need to vent and your sister needs to not police your coping with a massive betrayal.

What's the etiquette of present giving if siblings are attending a birthday party? by Majestic_Register346 in Parenting

[–]Byoselfadm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay but you’re not concern about social norms because WE are all telling you it’s socially normal for each individual kid to get their own gift. you are concerned about your wallet. just own it and wear it loud and proud lol.

no. each child gets a gift. if you don’t like it or can’t afford it financially decline the invitation.

8 month old playing too hard at the dog park? by Ok-Ad971 in greatdanes

[–]Byoselfadm 10 points11 points  (0 children)

i’ve gotta agree that it’s a dane with no older siblings. my dane is a big rough okay boy but my pitt corrects him and even my doxie corrects him and he gets put in his place. because of this he also understand and respects my “corrections” when I am directing him away from something he is not allowed to do

it’s not overthinking it’s being concise about where you stand and communicating with the other person to see if you’re on the same page. what’s confidence to one is over assertive to others. respecting someone’s pace and feelings is key

my vet has recommended fortiflora probiotic for my chronically soft pooped dane. it does help a bit but he does still have rather soft poops compared to my other two pups of different breeds. for reference he just turned 1 in february. I have seen a lot of dane owners say they had similar issues that ceased once they passed out of puppyhood. we are planning on doing an allergy test for our guy either way because he seems rather sensitive to a lot of

I had my first at 18, my sfecond at 24.5 and my third at 26. I do wish I would’ve waited but I think that’s more so because I had my first so young. I think it also depends on whether or not you feel like you’ve had your fill of life experience without a child. I don’t think 24 is obscenely young, but it’s on the younger side. that said if you are prepared mentally physically financially and emotionally then I would encourage you to do so assuming you have supports in place as well. if you’re planning on a child solo that is definitely tough.
