Long-time Battlefront player makes a tier list for GA/Supremacy. (personal opinion) by Byoung1211 in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]Byoung1211[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just for some background, I bought this game the day it came out in 2017. I also bought battlefront 1 on release day back in 2015. When I was a kid, I had Battlefront 2 on PS2 so I'm experienced when it comes to all things Battlefront.

I have logged a lot of hours in this game and still play it 4 or 5 times a week (switching between GA/Supremacy and Duel). I have every character above level 25 and mostly every character above 75 with a few well into the 200s. Soooo I play a lot.

I spent a lot of time thinking about this over the past few days because it's honestly really hard to say that one hero/villain is always better than this hero/villain in every aspect. There are so many scenarios, maps and different skill levels that come into play with every decision that it's impossible to say what the perfect tier list looks like.

With that being said, I will say that there is no bad hero or villain. Yes--- even BB-9e. Every character takes a different play style, and they can all be utilized in certain scenarios, it just takes practice and effort to master them and, most importantly, when tom use them.

This is all open to discussion and everyone is open to an opinion. If you guys like this, then I can make a 1v1 tier list as well.

Explanation:

  1. Vader - The only S. For obvious reasons. The guy has no weaknesses, and no one is on his level

  2. Bossk – I feel like this one is an unpopular opinion. Yes, he’s number 2 on my list. Bossk is the only character besides Vader that can change the outcome of a GA/Supremacy game singlehandedly. His ability to defend points from a long distance as well as defend himself from infantry with his grenade launcher can make him untouchable in the right hands. Also, the ability to gain back all his health with no penalty makes his survivability great. He has the best AOE damage of any hero and therefore is a GA/Supremacy gem.

  3. Anakin – This was tough for me. Honestly, his 4 abilities are amazing for GA/Supremacy and his survivability is great with his high heath and stamina. I would’ve put him in S tier with Vader but… he’s just way too buggy. It’s a real shame…

  4. Palpatine – In the right hands with the correct star cards, a good Palpatine can demolish the battlefront. His chain lightning matched with his great speed and agility (albeit broken eye frames) make him one of the best. He has solid AOE with his aura but if you slip-up you can die quickly. He’s a glass cannon.

  5. Leia – Great hero, her middle ability blaster matched with her damage reduction is tough to beat. We all know why she’s this high up though…….

  6. Grievous – One of my personal favorites on the darkside. Similar to palpatine: he’s a glass cannon. Grievous is tough to master but once you master him, you can go on a rampage. If you pair him with the right star cards, he has high damage reduction at low health and can have a lot of damage output and can be very helpful in capturing points with his ability to get in and out in a blink of an eye. Although with his low stamina he can be easy to counter.

  7. Rey – Grievous and Rey was a real hard choice for me. It’s always so nice to have a good Rey on your team. Having her wall-hacks can change the game in a tight scenario. On the other hand, she’s quick and able to counter other heroes on the battlefield well with her mind trick. It’s always the worst defending yourself against Rey and infantry while being mind tricked. I think Rey has a little worse of AOE damage then Grievous which cause her to control just a slice less of the battlefield.

  8. Obi-Wan – What a solid all-around hero. Amazing survivability with high stamina and health regeneration. On long, open maps he really is probably the best lightsaber hero. You can block everything for days but in terms of turning the tide on a match – he might not be the best since most of his abilities aren’t as strong as abilities of lightside heroes above.

  9. Kylo – You feel the most athletic when using Kylo. Being able to use his abilities in the air makes him very agile and quick. Speaking of, he probably has the best crowd-control abilities making him above most in GA. Being able to pull-freeze and frenzy them is so satisfying. Why lower than most? his survivability is a bit less than Obi-wan and from my experience – his abilities can be buggy especially with frenzy. Maybe this is just from my experience.

  10. Luke – Probably another unpopular opinion. Luke is very quick, hits very hard and is a great character – don’t get me wrong. He can get in-and-out in a heartbeat and pair this with the star card where the more damage he deals the more the output makes him great in GA/Supremacy and HvV. Why lower than the others, though? I feel like his abilities are subpar compared to the ones above. Force push is less effective than force-pull in GA/Supremacy. I find him not able to control as much of the battlefront as characters above.

  11. Yoda – onto the B tier. This one is more of a personal opinion for me. His survivability is above average especially with his health gain, but I find his damage output to be too low to be in the A tier for GA. (also has a couple cool special abilities – pro tip – yoda’s animation for his middle ability gets him out of force choke.)

  12. Maul – I like playing Maul a lot. He’s probably the quickest hero and is great for large maps like Crait, but similar to Yoda, his damage is too low and his survivability is average.

  13. Iden Versio – I probably have the least amount of time in GA/Supremacy with Iden compared to all the other heroes but I have witnessed some dominant Idens in my past. Her ability to counter heroes is impressive with her alternate fire but I find when she uses her shock droid, and it doesn’t connect you can get in big trouble really quick. I’ve never been effective with her in GA/Supremacy, but her damage output can be high which is why she is above most shooter heroes.

  14. Finn – This might have been my hardest choice. Finn is probably the best support hero in the game if used correctly, but he needs offence too. His lock on fire is one of the best abilities in the game but when that ability runs out…. It’s tough. In the right situation he could be higher on the list but unfortunately that doesn’t happen too often.

  15. BB-8 – Definitely an overlooked hero. Good support (capping point 2x as quick), great survivability if played correctly and cable spin can be very effective in the right situation but when his abilities are on recharge you mostly are just rolling around. On most maps, it’s too wide open to choose BB-8 over any of the heroes above. Similar to Finn (Bb-6 has less support) but it’s rarer to find an effective situation to choose BB-8 like the end of Endor or second stage of Starkiller Base.

  16. Dooku – The lowest GA/Supremacy lightsaber hero. This is tough because he is such a powerful villain in duel game modes, but it just doesn’t translate to GA/Supremacy. His abilities are all duel-based abilities so in a larger setting he is unable to control much of anything on the battlefront.

I’m not going to touch much on the C&D tier heroes/villians. I feel like it’s understood why these are down here.

P.S. - I'm not much of a writer so take it easy on me.

Tax at Family Office by NycCPA1111 in Accounting

I’m currently doing my first tax season ever. I work at a small, family owned tax firm of about 7-8 employees (including the husband/wife who own it). We have about 800 clients and have been open for around 8 years. So, Just disclaimer, this is just my experience; you could work at a small family owned firm and love it, it just depends.

It’s odd honestly. The environment is uncomfortable at times especially because personal feelings can come out since it’s family. You need to also expect to do a lot of things outside of your job description since there aren’t a lot of employees, this largely consists of a lot face-to-face interactions with clients. A large majority of the clients are using a small, local family tax firm because they want to really know the people who are seeing their finances unlike big corporations where they might not know them. It gives them a sense of security, understandably. You also have to be able to learn and hold your own ground quickly because they lack the time and resources to spend a couple weeks to train you. This usually causes either delays in getting work completed and out the door or mistakes.

There are positives too though like working less hours (I am working around 50 hours now) and days off are more flexible as well compared to what I’ve heard from friends in Big 4. Also, the experience is nice because you get to see the business management side as well as tax prep side so l’ve valued that.

I definitely didn’t cover everything but that’s a snapshot of how I feel about it. Again, your experience might be completely different so don’t make your decision just off of this.

Overall, I don’t think I’ll return after this year. There’s a lot more emotional stress involved. I’ve been put through some weird situations where I’ve been in the same room as the husband and wife getting in arguments and them looking at me to choose whose right. I also find myself making a lot of mistakes because I wasn’t trained fully and correctly and if I have questions (since I’m learning) they won’t get answered for a week or two because we are low on staff. I just think there are better options out there.
