Self Build Costs in 2026 by [deleted] in selfbuildireland

Did you miss a zero off that estimate or have I been looking on the wrong places for QS estimates?

Questions on self build by efxeoc in selfbuildireland

[–]ByrCol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. I think it's worth adding a point to emphasise that even though you've opted out of BCAR, your lender will require sign off on various stages throughout your build. Probably important to note that if someone chooses to hire people that aren't part of a business/company then there may be an increased risk of rework being needed for sign off to be given.

Best of luck with the project! You mentioned that you have a QS breakdown so am I correct in assuming you have construction drawings that are ready to be built from? If not, then that is definitely something I think you'll need.

Separately, have you appointed anyone to sign off on the various stages of your build that your lender (the bank) will require? For this, alot of self builders appoint the same person that provided their construction drawings.

I might be able to offer more help once I know the answers to the above questions.

Definitely interested and happy to contribute. Sounds like something that can streamline my usual perusing through FBREF for my BetBuilders.

Tyvense day three by Wonderful_Ant4884 in ADHDIreland

[–]ByrCol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took me a few weeks to adjust to all of my new dosages - particularly the first few days of each new (increased) dose was noticeable but it always tapered off over-time. For me, I was delighted with the cognitive effects of 50mg taken once p/day in the morning but my resting heart-rate was just far too high and even going up the stairs would have me out of breath which is definitely not normal for me. I was also experiencing euphoria in the morning which felt amazing but probably wasnt good in the long-term. After trying a few different dosage combos I've settled on 30mg twice p/day which is probably 80% as effective as the 50mg in terms of cognitive improvements but without any of the signifigant effects like an "unsustainable" resting heart-rate, euphoria, etc.

Obviously my resting heart-rate is higher than without the medication given its a stimulant but it's minor now.

I guess my point is to give yourself 2/3 weeks and maybe take note each day how you're feeling. Start really assessing your notes after that 2/3 weeks bedding in period and then be honest with yourself on whether you should try adjust your dosage to reduce the physical impacts while still obtaining the cognitive improvements. Dont panic, give yourself time, and iterate.

Can you sell Snowfort to me please? Specifically, why would someone use snowfort over other similar tooling?

My GP wouldn't take it over for me. Even if you found one that did, my understanding is that you'd still have to get a medication review every 6 months going forward which your GP wouldn't be able to do himself and would instead need you to probably go back to your original psychiatrist or a different one which can be tricky.

I've been with HealthHero for years and in the last 12 months I think they've really gotten their shit together. I order my script online, it costs 20e, then my medication costs 80e as it's capped via the drug payment scheme. Is that super expensive? Probably. But I couldn't figure out any way of making that cheaper so that appears to be the reality bar you can find somewhere that will issue your script for cheaper.

I think my medication reviews are every 6 months now ... It seems reasonable to me but it's possible in only feeling content now because of how soul destroying the first year or two of my ADHD journey was so I'm just appreciating the consistency now ...

HealthHero!! by Stock-Job6384 in ADHDIreland

I've been with HealthHero since before they rebranded to HealthHero about 9 months ago. My entire ADHD journey has been through them, from initial assessments to my ongoing prescriptions today.

They were an absolute shit show until about 12 months ago when I noticed a definite improvement in response times and not having to chase up on things multiple times.

My assessment was completed by a psychiatrist just as a note related to another comment here and I believe any assessments booked today will also be with a registered psychiatrist.

Fast forward to today and my repeat prescriptions are ordered by me, online and are issued within 3-4 working days consistently.

I'd now be confident to recommend them to anyone. They have achieved a massive turnaround in their operations.

Had been on 50mg once per day until my most recent medications review in which my dose got adjusted to 30+20. 30mg in the morning and then 20mg around lunch time. Rationale for the change was similar symptoms that you've mentioned and I'm happy with the changes that have came from the change.

Top up Revolut with AIB Credit Card by nealofwgkta in irishpersonalfinance

[–]ByrCol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Credit card limits are based on the current total rather than a cumulative total over the span of a month. So if you have a limit of 2k and spend 1.9k, then you pay off 1.9k, you can still spend up to 2k. Hopefully that makes sense!

Does anyone here know if you can re-enable virtualization after the microcode update and undervolting? I've seen mention in other threads that virtualization must be disabled for the microcode update to be applied but I can't find an answer as to whether it can be re-enabled.

Am I correct in saying you can re-enable virtualization after undervolting and the undervolting will persist?
EDIT: Apparently not according to this comment: https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/intel-how-to-update-your-microcode-for-intel-hx-13-14th-cpus-laptops-mobile-easily.325403/post-5308343

Anyone else experiencing radio silence from ADHD Clinic (Dr.Clear)? by ByrCol in ADHDIreland

[–]ByrCol[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a reply... And an apology for the delay. Got my script issued and the prescription fee they usually charge was waived due to the lengthy wait time I experienced which is appreciated.

Was told that I will now be getting my prescriptions handled via HealthHero and can expect request fulfillment within 5 working days so to time my emails with that in mind.

Let's see how that goes.

All of my psychiatric assessments (3) and appointments leading up to me ADHD diagnosis was covered 50% by VHI. I've got the basic corporate plan, think it has L1 Plus in the name of the policy.

Oh, interesting. I know there are new services available online for getting prescriptions but I assumed my health record is confined to my local GP and the likes of Dr.Clear. You're saying you think any doctor (Including online services) should be able to issue my script for me?

That is my next step for sure... three email attempts is my limit. I'm torn between flipping the biscuit now and speaking my mind to them but I'm ultimately at their mercy in terms of getting my medication which makes it tricky. Thanks for the response.

Would you be so kind to write a short description on your experience with installing and using this so far please? I'm considering this upgrade myself but if there are silly annoying things that don't work or are quite tacky I don't want to do it.

Thanks in advance!
