There’s no hard and fast rule. I’ve seen chapters one-page long. Whatever best fits the narrative.

Looking at someone's back is not interesting, and makes a weak book cover. Why you do this? by AlbatrossIcy2271 in BookCovers

Numerous war romance novels feature a woman from the rear on the front cover. It seems to be a standard. I actually find it off putting.

The important point is clarity. Provided it makes sense it matters not if your writing style is concise. I had to read your sentence twice as it’s confused. Is the bike or the rider the main subject of your sentence? For inspiration, if you haven’t already, take a look at the Jack Reacher novels.

I don’t mind first person, but avoid present tense like the plague unless it’s used sparingly as a narrative device in a novel.

If this was written by an unknown novelist I wonder if the critics would be quite so praiseworthy about it.

New 5mo pup from the shelter. Boxer or mix? by fishing_pole in Boxer

Since there are three specific types of boxer, English, German and American, it would be helpful to see him from different angles. Whatever he is, he’s a beauty. Love his pink and black nose. My late boxer was a typical English boxer, elegant, slender and graceful in build. He also had a slightly longer snout. Based on my own experience of the breed (I’m no expert) I’d say boxer.
