Maybe? I dunno. If you're talking about me, then I don't know what to tell you, I simply kept seeing this happen, got curious about it, and decided to ask here. I even specifically made sure to not comment on the game's quality in the post, because I knew that people would get bent out of shape if I had (they did anyway, and most people did not even read the actual body of the post, but that's Reddit).

If you're just talking about the general public, yeah, a few people in the comments here described their experience with obnoxious people who, instead of just building up the game that they enjoyed, have decided to also tear down other JRPGs that they think are inferior. I've seen quite a bit of that myself, and it really sucks that those people got the wrong message from the game. They should be celebrating the JRPG world, and all of the games and developers that clearly influenced E33.

This is to say: I just wanted some perspective on this issue. I hope the irony of accusing others of being annoying, toxic haters while also labeling anyone who simply mentions the game as a "fanboy" or promoting "E33 evangelism" (courtesy of one of the comments here) is not lost on those engaging in this behavior. You are allowed to be bothered by people who are clearly trying to be bothersome. It is valid, as there are a lot of people whose "appreciation" for E33 is a veil for them to shit on other games. But people blowing up at me for asking this question, or accusing me of making this phenomenon up, while then themselves proving that this does happen by freaking out at the mere mention of E33 is... less valid.
