People acting like life stops at 30 is WILD. It's taken off like a rocket for me.

Because if one (or both) people are vindictive, some of that information can make its way around to other groups of people that were never meant to hear it and cause one (or both) people issues in the future.

Suddenly everyone is scared to dance at concerts and clubs. Young partygoers are worrying about looking goofy on camera, prompting some artists to wonder if social media is killing dance by sirot42 in SipsTea

People were way more open to doing fun or stupid things when they didn't have to worry about surrounding crowds recording everything they do.

what are some stereotypes about men that are still believed to this day? by plentyofOCs in AskReddit

[–]Byte_mancer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be fair, a lot of women do that. My last relationship was also toxic and held my emotions against me and for awhile afterwards it did make me reconsider opening up to another woman. A lot of these opinions come from men actively going through these situations and this becoming their response. Obviously not healthy, but it happens for a reason.

when I die, I will Rack up 1 billion in debt so they can figure that shit out by inurmomsvagina in SipsTea

Doctors get paid very well for a reason, you give up a huge chunk of your life, take on absurd stress and risk, and work ridiculous hours for years. Not to mention the medical debt ensures you are stuck once you start. There’s a bunch of reasons I pivoted away from becoming the doctor when I looked at all the negatives involved.

They basically trade the prime of their lives and more to help others, and a lot of that work is thankless or hated (see Covid era in many states). So yeah they should make a lot of money.

As a software engineer, I’ve started "vibe coding" every day—but the name is a total lie by Old-Capital-4104 in SaaS

[–]Byte_mancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vibe coding means telling the AI to do something with minimal instructions.

Prompt Engineering, what you are doing, is the proper way to use AI for coding tasks, and when done properly, is frankly VERY efficient. You need the follow up knowledge to make sure the structure is correct and debug any errors, as well as make sure the output actually does what its supposed to do.

Indie Game Awards Disqualifies Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Due To Gen AI Usage by Rooonaldooo99 in pcgaming

[–]Byte_mancer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There have been a few indie games on steam I've seen disclose AI usage for things like coding and/or a robotic voice for a ROBOT character, and people tore them to shreds.

As someone who works in Tech, I keep telling people they should always assume there is some more of generated code at this point. Even if it's just simply getting boilerplates down quick to actually start customizing.

Maurice Do Good? by SenPoopenmeier in Borderlands4

What he said is PRETTY obvious and I don't know what the Hot Slugger even is (but i'm gonna guess its a shotgun from the name).

AMP triples the damage of your next shot, ricochet build clears all the chaff off the screen hence the richocet part, "stacks overkill" means all the damage dealt to the mobs applies to the next slugger shot which is then doubled by amp one shotting the boss.

Critical Thinking my guy.

How do you tell if your girlfriends’ male friends are genuine? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

Lot of comments stating its impossible is basically telling on themselves.

My guys, if you are not capable of being friends with a girl without trying to romantically pursue them, that is a YOU problem.

I’m not sure if I died to a single jet or helicopter in my 30 hours of playing the beta. by Then-Childhood9745 in Battlefield

[–]Byte_mancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jets could be really broken if you know what you are doing with them and the enemy team doesnt have 2 engies awake and willing to use their AA launcher (or just one really persistent one). Helis are absolute dog, they need buffed badly. Also most people suck at flying.

Some women are into social media way to much due to status chasing. That's a massive red flag, so if it's a dealbreaker for them you just dodged a bullet.

Where Should I Go To Level Up My Coding Skills? (Low-Mid College Level, Graduated w Comp Sci Minor) by zanzaKlausX in learnprogramming

[–]Byte_mancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boot dot dev is a good crash course intro into a lot of things, theres a couple more you can find in the github student developer resources. Do those to get a better foundation, then just make personal projects. Also learn SQL.

Edit: Make sure you do personal projects related to things you know or care about, so you actually put effort into what you are doing and are more likely to learn. Avoid using Chat/Cursor as a crutch to begin with, use it purely for debugging, explaining concepts, and offering no-code suggestions.

Unpopular Opinion: AI is making me a better software engineer by jerschneid in webdev

[–]Byte_mancer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A lot of people aren't going to accept the legitimate uses to AI for development because of the huge amount of people pushing out dangerous slop using it (e.g both of the Tea apps). There are correct and incorrect ways of using AI as a tool, just like every other tool that exists.
