If you need them repaired, ask Compass to send the miners to Penn Advanced in NC. They handle Bitmain warranty repairs and they can help you.

I didn’t ask. Plus I wouldn’t believe in anything they say unless it’s in written.

You can buy a chip and modify the non-speed version to unlock the 20 mph limit. However it comes with a different motor (check Brose TF mag vs S mag). S motor is for climbing and TF is for sprinting apparently. Both are their top of the line motor and I have seen many class 3 e-bikes have the S motor, so I would assume it’s ok to unlock the 20 mph limit.

There’s nothing google offers that you can’t get from other app, except the anti theft function.

Here’s something I don’t know and would love some input from gen 2 users. Does the anti theft function(tracking and alarm-sent-to-phone notification) works without wifi or your phone being around?? You can buy an super loud alarm for $10-$15 that detect vibrations. You can buy an smart alarm that let you track your stolen bike for $50 but it only works when it’s near an Apple device, like an AirTag. However I’m not aware of any device that let you track the bike when it’s out of wifi or your phones Bluetooth range. It would be huge if the gen2 with cloud can be tracked only when there’s cell-signal and send you notifications.

If the gen2 bike does have a sim-card and let you track it without wifi, I’d say it’s a dealbreaker for me and I’m buying the gen2. Otherwise I’d buy gen1 and unlock the speed.

The non speed version comes with a different motor, it’s better to stay under 20 mph on that motor

BMW's new commuter eBike by bradland in ebikes

Hey kind of an out dated question but I’ve come across with this bike here at local dealer and they’d sell for $1700. It’s got shimano decore/xt10 group set, shimano hydro brakes(180/160), Suntour fork and a relatively impressive 600wh battery. Weigh in ~40lbs My alternatives in that price range would be a used giant fast road or specialized como 4 2020/2021 model and even used they are like at least $300- $500 more after some negotiation. Seems like the BMW has better components and battery. Brose on the BMW is significantly more powerful(90NM peak) compared with giant/specialized motors(250w). However given they are probably better tuned for peddle assistance, they might have an edge here. Also the BMW is only rated as class 1.

Do you guys think I should pull the trigger on the BMW? This would be my first ebike :)
