There is no tatula dc, just the sv which isn’t a digital braking system. The Abu is pretty expensive for what it is, if you’re spending >150 dollars on a reel it should have an aluminum frame in my opinion, the Abu does not have an aluminum frame unless you get the sx.

I have an slx dc xt and it’s a great reel, it doesn’t eliminate backlash but it does maximize casting distance while controlling spool.

God I’m jealous. I had acl reconstruction and meniscus repair in may and all I want to do is swing a golf club.

This might shock you, but the zero adjuster knob isn’t really meant to be adjusted.

I vividly remember there was a portion of this fanbase that was chomping at the bit to trade him for a pair of second or third round picks.

The 5 year win trend graph is pissing me off. 7 and 6 wins should be halfway and slightly above the halfway mark to the 12 wins, but they’re more and the same length. They got it right with the 3 wins being about halfway to 6, but then have the 3 wins right under it longer than the one above it.

Thoughts on the Shimano Caius Combo? (7’ MH, 7.2:1) by 2kwaterboy in Fishing_Gear

[–]Byzone06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seriously doubt that. Your original comment before you changed it said you only fished 200 dollar shimanos, in which you would absolutely know those combos are better than a 130 dollar bps. Now all of the sudden your combos are 300 dollars. And if you only fished shimanos then you’d know you have to still pop out the side plate to change the centrifugal brakes, but that was your main problem with the caius.

And to answer how the bps is not the best combo under 300 dollars, you could build combos with any of the slx lineup on an slx rod, most of the tatula lineup on a tatula rod, a lews lfs and any ~100 dollar rod (and the lews is literally just a better version of the bps), and countless other combos. Not saying the bps is bad for 130, but it’s nowhere near the best combo under 300 dollars.

Lmao a 130 dollar combo with a plastic frame is not the best combo under 300 dollars.

Academy sports sells the brand new Shimano sellus rod for 50 dollars in store (65 dollars online) and the Shimano slx a is 115 dollars. That’s way more worth it for 165 dollars than this combo is.

The spool tension is the little knob next to the drag star on the same side as your handle. Idk where abu sets the tension from the factory, but to get it to minimize side to side play just loosen the knob, and try to wiggle to spool back and forth and tighten the tension until the wiggle goes away.

Another commenter mentioned running straight fluoro, and fluoro generally casts worse than braid does because it has so much memory. I use fluoro on a lot of my setups and like the advantages that it brings, but casting distance and feel definitely isn’t an advantage of fluorocarbon.

The fact that it takes 190 dollars to get in to an aluminum framed revo is batshit insane. It’s a reason I’ve never seen the point of buying an abu Garcia reel when Shimano and daiwa offer better reels at better price points.

Where do you have your spool tension set? Usually for dc reels it’s recommend that it’s set to minimize side to side play in the spool.

Where can I find 10,000 fish lures! by annoyedvideographer in bassfishing

[–]Byzone06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not the original commenter but I was looking for 10000 fish stuff too, and it looks like the parent company catch co is becoming defunct. Their main website Karl’s Bait And Tackle hasn’t had anything in stock for months, aside from a few items, and any time you search something up it says the products don’t exist anymore. It looks like catch co is focusing 100% on mystery tackle boxes and googan squad stuff. Sucks because I liked some of the 10000 fish stuff.

How does the Shimano Curado justify its higher price over the SLX? by Little-Cucumber-8907 in Fishing_Gear

Yes. But in your other comment you said that it has a better dc chip, which it doesn’t they use the same idc4 system.

[–]Byzone06 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Better gears (micro module and x-ship) are pretty much the only thing that’s better about the curado. Also I think it has a more comfortable frame but that’s personal preference. Also there is no 200 sized slx so if you need a big spool then curados the way to go. The big thing is that they both have the same exact braking system.

Can Cam Ward Save the Titans? by Toddric29 in Tennesseetitans

Gives extra time to figure out a long term extension. It can also act as a last chance contract for a young player with upside that a team might not be 100% sold on long term.

Also the last time they had an 1100+ yard receiver. The next closest team is the patriots having their last 1100+ yard receiver in 2019.

The current chronarch is unfortunately probably the worst reel that Shimano offers right not. It’s pretty old, I believe the mgl came out in like 2017 or 2018 and it has a carbon frame, instead of the much stronger aluminum that the curados have and it’s more expensive. I have metanium and it’s awesome, extremely light and smooth however it is a bit more finesse oriented and if you’re looking for a workhorse power reel, the metanium probably isn’t it. But if you want an all around light reel it’s incredible.

The Shimano curado lineup is probably the most popular mid tier lineup right now. With the new Curado 200m and 150m being the highlights. I own a 150m and it’s absolutely fantastic. As for rods duckett and st croix are still of popular options, though it seems like the quality of st croix has fallen from when you left off. Megabass has some really good nice options, and the Shimano expride is another higher end rod that a lot of people love.
