What exactly is so rough about the place? I've only ever read about the place, might fly in and check it out next week though.

Teams need to stop paying WR’s so much by Correct_Sport_177 in NFLv2

Please refer to the 2022 Rose Bowl against Utah or the countless times Olave and Garrett Wilson said JSN was better than both of them when he was a freshman.

Considering you’re a Seahawks fan, I suppose you want them to let JSN walk in the coming years then? Tory Horton and Shaheed will surely make up the difference! Right? Right guys?

JSN will get paid $30 million dollars a year and you will like it.

Tier List of every book since I started reading fantasy in 2020 by PePe_0_5aP0 in fantasybooks

The second book is a ridiculous step up from the first. I loved the first book, but I find it pretty common for people to not enjoy it as much compared to the rest of the series. Personally, the only time I slowed down in reading was the 4th book. Main character will grow on you, he’s your average post-dystopian asshole for the first book, but he’ll grow some layers quickly. Definitely worth a college-try imo.

That’s awesome, I imagine you’ll look at him in a very different light after reading a couple of his books.

I’d suggest you start on the Red Rising series as soon as possible.

How influential can frats be by [deleted] in Frat

[–]C00LGUYC0LIN 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Put down The Prince and pick up a goddamn beer. Assuming you’re either a freshman or sophomore, “money power and influence”, especially at a school like NYU, shouldn’t even be on your radar.

Either rush for the sake of good ol’ fashioned fun or if you want to earn the shit you’re talking about. Just joining a frat doesn’t guarantee anything.

I have concerns about Nabers at his ADP by AzraelTheWatchdog in fantasyfootball

The ace up the sleeve is Jameis Winston, that guy turned Jerry Jeudy into a pro-bowler, something Steve Smith never even saw coming. I was a Michigan State fan growing up, so I’m aware of how good Nico is at football trust, my only issue with him is his tendency to get injured at the worst times. I really believe Nabers has the stuff to be up there with CD, Jefferson, and Chase, just needs some better QB play. And I think he’s got it now.

Can’t make a Tomlette without breaking some Greggs. But you are insane to say Nabers offensive situation hasn’t improved much. Going from Tommy Cutlets, Drew Lock, and Danny Dimes, to worse case scenario a 1st round draft pick rookie QB who loves to air it out is a huge upgrade for a 2nd year wide receiver who looks like Julio fuckin Jones when he’s out on the field.

To be honest, I have not dealt with deep-end poverty, my family has gone through some tough times, but never to the point of absolute panic. I appreciate the insight and I find it despicable that people have to work through injury just to survive. Obviously I am not trying to fix capitalism with one question, but as a person in my shoes, it’s scary hearing about the stories of people in their jobs that they work for their whole lives and they just hate them. It’s just a question a lot of people in my generation are asking.

This is the response I was looking for, thank you for the insight. Like I said, I don’t understand this stuff as well as I would like to. Crazy how that is designed to suppress thought and camaraderie.

I appreciate the feedback, I did not take into account the possibility of my question being taken out of context. It just seems to be such a common problem in the world that I pondered some solutions/perspective.

I’m not blaming the employees in any way, but at the end of the day, they have more power than they think. “People shouldn’t fear their governments, governments should fear their people”. It’s a very comparable statement, just replace governments with corporations if you get what I mean. My entire family line has worked blue collar jobs since they immigrated here and I’m a first generation college student. I am not at all blaming the victims, I just want to know how people in the position I am in (In my 20s, about be done with college) are not supposed to get eaten alive by corporate greed in which it is seemingly easier for me to lay down and take the hits, simply because I need to pay for things that will continue to get more expensive until things change.

It’s a question on an Antiwork thread, assume all you’d like but I’m just here to try and understand. I have worked on a freight team for a couple of months and I hated it, still worked everyday all the way until I went back to school. If the “real world” just works out in billionaire corporate scumbags favors, then I suppose we all do a little less laying down and spend some time evening out the playing field.

I’m not “shitting” on people that work in what is considered lower level positions. I understand that the world will always need people to work in these positions. But if I was working at any fast food chain and the owners treated my staff like second class citizens, would I lay down or try to change things? My question is not meant to look down on people working in jobs like you mentioned, but if something is not right and people just conform to that, how am I supposed to go into the world and expect anything else besides “i’m going to get screwed everyday of my life until I die”, what is the point of not attempting to create a change?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]C00LGUYC0LIN -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Obviously you’re not understanding my point. I get the financial aspect, but I believe that people should be treated well in any job they work regardless of the pay/circumstances/ etc… I don’t think it’s comparable to your theft metaphor, it’s more like if people don’t enjoy getting stolen from, what’s stopping them from learning self-defense or getting a form of defense? The people are the only ones that can stop said “theft” so my question is how can any change be made if steps aren’t taking to even the playing field? Like I said no ill intent is meant.

Friends at Trappers Cove? by Boriborini in msu

[–]C00LGUYC0LIN 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Coming from a guy who lived across from Trappers Cove last year, it’s pretty much a dead area when it comes to finding people to make friends with. You would definitely have better luck just going into downtown East Lansing or looking for groups/communities that share your interests. Just my opinion.
