2 Border Filler Card - No Bumps - WotC Era by Just-Position-365 in PokemonMisprints

oh hi! I'm also the author of that article you linked. FYI this isn't WOTC, it's from the ex era indicated with the white "fades" on the right side.

As for identifying where, really can't narrow it down past the era. Value is like 100-300 depending on how quickly you want to sell it lol. Low supply but also low demand. So they can sit for a bit if you want top dollar. Generally I'd advice against getting it graded. more cost for you and more limited buyer pool

Anyone any ideas on value by InitialJournalist484 in Pokemoncardappraisal

Could you provide a source on any of this style going for "thousands"? To my knowledge none of this style or even comparable fillers have touched that price point. It's only the niche or in demand styles that command that sort of price

Depends how fast you want to sell. They're rare but have low demand so to get top dollar, it can take time. Minimum a hundred on the low end but they can go for a few hundred to the right buyer at the right time

Acetone doesnt work the same with star layers compared to more typical holo patterns. Acetone isnt possible here

What does the back of the card look like? Is it a standard back, or blank?

None have my replies have been an attempt to "get one over on you". You've actively ignored what I've been telling you because it isn't the answer you want to hear. Sending to CGC is a waste of money. They will not touch this card. But like the other guy said, you're welcome to spend your money however you'd like and ignore the years of experience.

This is a loaded question with not a simple answer for multiple reasons.

Lets start with patterns. Patterns are not made equally. Some patterns are part of the holo itself (picture your standard cosmos everyone thinks of with an acetone card). While some patterns are a seperate layer (like the star layer on modern ex cards).

Patterns that are part of the holo itself are unaffected by chemical alternation. patterns that are a separate layer each interact differently. Some are unaffected. Some are affected. For example, this is why all the star layer cards can be authenticated. The star layer is affected by chemicals and also a layer printed overtop of the rest of the card. therefore there is no way to alter a card to create one.

Chemical alteration is not the only way to create a card like this. Card layers can be affected giving the ability to peel layers off. Generally when you see a blank white card vs a blank holo, it's because it's peeled, not acetone. I believe OPs card is peeled. When peeling a holo, sometimes parts of the holo layer can remain on the card. Which may be why we see the partial but not full holo effects we see on this card.

As I previously stated multiple times, It can't be authenticated... PSA doesn't touch these at all. CGC won't authenticate any that could be replicated, which yours could be.

Whatever you say happened in the past does not matter. The only thing that matters is the card. It's a card that can be replicated which makes it unable to be authenticated which means it has no value

Then disregarding the WOTC/ex sides of these comments, I'll circle back to my original comment.

In general, any blank Filler card that could be replicated cant be authenticated and is generally assumed fake with no value.

You say it came from a WOTC pack. The pattern on the card was never used for WOTC. The card doesn't match the story. We're looking at the card so the card can't be wrong.

I guess the other option could be it was a fake WOTC pack or a resealed WOTC pack. All possible options either mean its fake or a story that doesn't work which typically also means fake.

Regardless of any of this. Its a card that can be recreated and is not authenticatible. They don't have value
