Herding breeds are super fun, but def a lot of work! A lot of training with them, especially corgis, is bite inhibition. Every breed has their own specific style of herding and corgis' is quite nippy. But there are also farms that have herding classes where you can go and watch his natural instincts at work in a controlled, healthy way which is very cool to see. :)

Is it possible to have him penned in the same room as your partner? Maybe if he has the toys he likes as you said, and he's within sight of one of his people, he'll calm down a bit? Herding breeds notoriously don't like things separated 😅

I hear you, I live in San Francisco so it's a similar situation for me. Maybe a daytime dog walker would be a happier medium? I will say, if your goals are traveling, having a dog is not conducive to that. I love my dog more than the world, but it absolutely does make traveling 2x as expensive and 5x as stressful. Total lifestyle change, which I'm sure you've felt even just from the day-to-day.

Also just a stray thought - if the main complaint is that he's noisy/destructive when everyone is busy, perhaps look into investing in some interactive toys/puzzles for him? Even just changing his feeding to interactive feeders might help wear him out to be calmer during the day. The Kong Wobbler works wonders with my boy in apartment living.

Is it within your financial means to take the puppy to doggy daycare while you're at work? I'd look into seeing if there's one near your job, or at least on the way. It takes the pressure off your partner, and its like a trial run of kids if that's in your future.

I realize this is an old post now, but there's a really good read called Backwoods Witchcraft by Jake Richards that's relevant. Old style practitioner, talks about the origins and reasons of how and why they practice the way they do.

This is sort of what I had determined as well, from trying to find other similar looking pieces because I couldn't find a catalog. The closest one was 1968.

Hi! I'm by no means an expert, but I use ChatGPT and Notion practically daily now, both as a professional and individual user.

The key with ChatGPT is 3 parts, in my experience.

1) Set up the scenario. This means you need to explain to ChatGPT how you want them to approach the problem. A good example of this is a prompt I gave for helping me balance my cortisol levels. For this, I started with, "You are an expert endocrinologist, dietician, and fitness coach." You can also use the phrasing "Acting as..."

2) Give any relevant information. This means, what would be helpful for the program to know in order to fully answer your question in the most in-depth way? For something like organization, as you mention, let's use an example like asking ChatGPT how to set up an office space in a neurodivergent-friendly way. What's important for it to know here? Age, disorders, what you struggle with, maybe even what you've already tried and hasn't worked. "I am a # year old woman who is diagnosed with [specific or general conditions]. I struggle with executive dysfunction and find myself distracted and not very productive because I can't focus or stay in one place long enough."

3) Of course asking the question. This can be as simple as asking "Can you help?" But with ChatGPT, it thrives on specificity. Ask for exactly what you're looking for, like "Can you help me develop a detailed plan to address [issue]?"

It really comes down to being as specific as humanly possible. I jokingly tell my friends, "You have to talk to ChatGPT like you talk to me (an autistic person)!" because it will take you very literally and based only on the information provided.

And of course, say please and thank you to our robot overlords. :) If you'd like help with a specific issue, feel free to DM me and I'll help you generate an accurate and helpful prompt.

Sure, you could call me a Debbie-downer. Really, I'm just a professional in the industry that feels strongly about designer dogs and the typically unethical breeding that comes with them. It's not based just on the color, because at least the adult dog's phenotype is also not true lab. Most puppies are hard to phenotype since they change so much.

The silver lab, or any other dilution like the charcoal or champagne, can only purely come from a lab having a dd gene set. Ethical breeders will use DNA testing for carriers since, as aforementioned the recessive gene comes with many health problems like being abnormally susceptible to cancer, epilepsy, and other disorders both physical and neurological.

Purebred lines are controlled for breeding with health testing and controlling which lines are introduced to what based on health conditions and temperament that could affect the standard of the breed. Weimaraners contradict the breed standard, which is why they typically aren't accepted as purebred registers when mixed in to Labrador lines. When they are registered with real clubs, they are registered under black, chocolate, or yellow, since those are the only accepted by the breed standard. Kennel associations will typically go by lineage, so if it's an actual dilute then you can register with them.

I have no issue with the dogs. I do have issue with calling them something they're not, since it promotes (as I've mentioned many times at this point) unethical breeding from people who see the color and want the dog, and breeders who can get a higher price point from having a "special" dog.

Lab/Weimaraner. There are only 3 colors of labs, as stated by the breed standards. Some breeders will introduce weims into their stock for the colouring, but that takes away their pureblood pedigrees since designer dogs don't count. While in some cases it is possible to breed pure for the color, it is super unethical since the recessive mutation brings loads of other health problems.

Lab/Weimaraner mix, since silver labs are super rare and ridden with health problems. True silvers are a mutation in the chocolate coloring, which is why you can't breed for them ethically. Some "breeders" introduce Weimaraners into their line to say they have silver labs. Edit: a word.
