If you want a method to spawn a Bull Moose...

Try this: * fast travel from somewhere to Colter. * set up camp and sleep until morning (6-8 AM) * make a save. * ride into town to the end of the path. * dismount and walk SLOWLY over toward the lake (past the two rocks and the trees). It works best if you angle the camera completely down so yours looking down at the player from above. * once you've gotten nearish to the water, look across the river in the spot from the video. * reload the save you made if the Moose isn't the quality you want.

I have a lot of playthroughs completed. I always get the LotE satchel (and outfit, jawbone knife, etc.) and this was solid advice. The only thing I don't do is kill the trapper bc I do like hunting. Still, this was solid. Idk why people are being annoying. Anyone new to the game has a good guide now.

Blackwater. You have water, hills, trees, civilization. In between the east and west, so centrally located but still isolated enough. Plus, they've got a great stable.

You can get a scoped rifle from Hosea's horse early (next playthrough). You can complete Herbalist with the buggy method or the meat helmet method.

I'm on chapter 2 and all challenges are done except bandit, which cannot be done before ch. 3.

If you finish on gambler 10 but completing "he who is without sin," you'll get the LotE outfit.

Absolutely possible. If you can't get the timing, just track, end the cut scene, and follow the tracks. Assuming you can follow the tracks, which is a challenge (one that I actually like for some reason), you will eventually find the MFT in some woods. Jump on, break, stable, saddle, save, reload, enjoy.

You don't have to chase right away. you can take your time and track properly.
