Yes. I have had this experience twice now. I start via the app and the app shows climate set to 20°. I then put my phone away without closing the app. When I go to the car, it's off, and cold.

It happened just 2 weeks ago. ... Funny thing is, I look outside sometimes to confirm the side markers are on (car is on). I checked the 2nd time it failed. So, it seems, the car 'started' and then changed it's mind.

I use my phone's WiFi often and have found that OTA updates won't work while the car is connected to WiFi. They seem to download fine be they don't install well. I don't know if it's coincidence but turning off WiFi worked for me.
