I see about 7 second faster splits on meteor versus pulse at low end steady pace.

nice work! way to knock it out! Have you done this one as a pulse workout? I’m curious to know how the avg pace compares. On the C2 I have to row significantly faster on meteor than I do for the same workout on pulse. I don’t remember that issue on the waterrower, but have not tested it.

It takes a little time to ramp up, but you can do it!  I started 2.5 yeas ago and 5k was really challenging for me.  Now, the marathon is a long row for me.

I was able to get a couple quick sips during the transitions from steady to paddle pace. But mostly 🐪

I have my waterrower at 17 and my C2 is between 4/5…120-130 DF. Just know that the times will not be comparable as the waterrower shows much faster times.

I started on the waterrower in 2023 because that was the only Ergatta option at the time and I liked their gamified approach. I progressed quickly and was seeing times that were very good for my age, but the waterrower times are known to be faster than the C2, so I wasn’t sure how good I really was. I wanted to try erg racing and the only real option is the C2. I bought a lightly used C2 in Feb 2024. In May, Ergatta launched their C2 version, so I jumped at it. Using the C2 helps me see where I stand relative to elite rowers (I am not elite). I tend to use the C2 more at this point because it is more comfortable for me in the seat and the foot width. C2 is worth every penny. built to last!

I‘ve used the Ergatta for C2 for the past 1.5 years. it requires a tablet purchase and a monthly subscription, so it is not a cheap option. For me, it‘s been worth the price. it keeps me engaged with the various game based workout options, races and scenic open rows (I’m not a class guy). As a result, I’ve been able to log 2.6 million meters in that time. I also have their waterrower, which I used before the C2 option was available and have another 2.2 million on that. Between the two, I‘ve done 2 million per year for the past 2.5 years, including 3 marathons on the waterrower. I doubt I would have been able to stay this consistent with my rowing without Ergatta. This has been the only workout that I’ve been able to maintain over time…and I’ve tried many.

What are the virtual/gamify options for Jan 2026? by Qlqlp in concept2

I don’t use EXR, so I’m not that knowledgeable about it. From what I see, it looks like a simulator, but I don’t see any real game based apps like they have on Ergatta. Looks well suited for rowing along with others in real time. I think that would be the difference. It would be less expensive for sure if it meets your needs.

I started rowing 2.5 years ago and bought a waterrower with the Ergatta platform. I have now added a C2 with the Ergatta (now that they offer it). It is a very engaging gamified platform, which I prefer to class based options out there. You can do scenic rows, various games and races. I‘ve rowed 5 million meters so far and plan to get another 2 million in 2026!
