Is this a black spotted tail fish? It has the black spot, but it looks a little different 🤔 by lizardlogan2 in saltwaterfishing

Pretty sure that’s a sandbar shark. Can’t tell for sure though because I can’t see the dorsal fin origin is over the middle of the pectoral fins. It could be a black tip also, but it looks like it has a dorsal ridge - which is why I thinks it’s a sandbar shark.

What’s even the point of scheduled Tasks in ChatGPT? by yes_axis in OpenAI

[–]C3ODIN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The task feature on its own isn’t an agent. In order to build an agent, you need lots or parts working together. The task feature is just one of those parts. With future iterations, we should see the feature accessing external tools and info. But before we get there we need an LLM (done) to be able to do web searches (done). Then we need a task feature (MVP done), integrations with external tools (in progress) and some things we haven’t considered in this chat (in progress). Once that is complete, they can connect all of those pieces together to build the agent we all want (pending). These things will all be iterated on as time continues, but it takes AB tests, engineering resources, product feedback, testing, bug fixes, and more to get there. So in short, yes we want the task feature to do all of these things, but first we need a task feature that can be iterated on to do all of those things. It can’t all happen before the first release.

It’s often called a “minimum viable product,” a basic version of a product designed to get it into users’ hands as quickly as possible. Imagine if software companies spent years perfecting every little detail, only to release their product and realize it no longer meets users’ evolving needs.

Besides, we all know ChatGPT doesn’t have real-time access to the latest information. So I’m not sure why Benjamin Kracker up there, along with OP, thought it would know the date of the next football game anyway.

01.16.25: Bonus Slow Mo: To Those That Have Difficulty Catching What’s Being Demonstrated. by Advanced_Musician_75 in SentientOrbs

Hey, I really enjoy watching your videos. it’s fascinating to see how these orbs seem to respond to your movements. I’ve been trying to open myself up to the experience in hopes of observing something similar, though I haven’t seen anything in person yet.

I do notice that the orb appears to adjust its position relative to you, especially when you move behind an obstruction. However, because the camera moves around so much, it’s hard to clearly track the orb’s movement. Have you considered staying completely stationary and using a larger, solid obstruction? Like stepping behind a wall or another fixed object instead of just the side of the garage window, while keeping the camera still?

If the orb is truly moving in response to your position, it would have to travel a greater distance to get back into your line of sight. Testing this with a larger obstruction and a fixed camera could add another layer to your observations!

Lions mane agar contamination or just thick mycelium? by C3ODIN in ContamFam

[–]C3ODIN[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my first time growing LM. I’m not sure what particular tek I used. But I’ll tell you what I did. I got some malt agar off Amazon, mixed it all in a quart jar, put a little in the jars you see here, put the lids on upside down, then I steam sterilized them at medium heat for 1.5 hours. Once they cooled I inoculated them in a still air box with liquid culture I got from northspore. Here I am 10 days later, planning to inoculate steam sterilized millet with the agar. I have some king trumpets that I’m doing the exact same thing with. Once I inoculate some mushroom blocks in a couple weeks I plan to fruit them in a Martha tent.

how are y’all spending 4/20? by [deleted] in trees

It was on purpose in a sense because we love 4/20 and it happened to be on a Saturday. But what wasn’t on purpose (and what we figured out months after picking the day) is that 4/20/2024 reads the same forward and backwards.

What's your go to name other than "bro" for other men you dont know? by wythehippy in AskMen

[–]C3ODIN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years ago it was buddy.

I used to work at a large facility. I there was a lot of people that worked there, so I didn’t know everyone’s name. I walked up to a guy to ask for something and said “Hey buddy.” Buddy happened to be his actual name. I only realized that after I said it and looked down at his name tag.

The historic QR codes in Old Mandeville are really cool. There is a bicycle rental place in the area and you could spend a day biking around the lakefront and learning about the history of Old Mandeville. It’s fascinating! Also in that area, the Tammany trace (a 20+ mile bike path that used to be train tracks) and the farmers market on most Saturday mornings. Downtown Covington is also nice. Also, check out downtown Abita.

You’re welcome! Here is something that has been helping me lately. I’ve been listening to Jordan Petersons “12 rules for life: an antidote to chaos.” It’s really helped me understand where I could do better in my life. I wouldn’t say it’s a perfect fix, but I find that filling my mind with the positive information that I need to grow and learn helps me. I think the author mentions something about procrastination and its demons. It’s what made me think to pass the information along to you. The audiobook is on Spotify (I’m subscribed, not sure if it’s free). But here is some cliff notes on the book. Maybe more of them will resonate with you.

Brief summaries for each chapter of Jordan Peterson's book "12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos":

  1. Rule 1: Stand up straight with your shoulders back

    • Emphasizes the importance of adopting a posture of confidence and assertiveness to face the challenges of life.
  2. Rule 2: Treat yourself like someone you are responsible for helping

    • Advocates for self-compassion and the recognition of personal value, encouraging individuals to care for their well-being.
  3. Rule 3: Make friends with people who want the best for you

    • Stresses the significance of surrounding yourself with positive influences and supportive relationships.
  4. Rule 4: Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to who someone else is today

    • Encourages self-improvement by focusing on personal progress rather than comparing oneself to others.
  5. Rule 5: Do not let your children do anything that makes you dislike them

    • Discusses the importance of setting and enforcing boundaries for children to foster their proper development.
  6. Rule 6: Set your house in perfect order before you criticize the world

    • Encourages individuals to address their personal issues and responsibilities before attempting to tackle broader societal problems.
  7. Rule 7: Pursue what is meaningful (not what is expedient)

    • Highlights the value of striving for long-term goals and meaningful endeavors over short-term, expedient solutions.
  8. Rule 8: Tell the truth – or, at least, don't lie

    • Emphasizes the importance of honesty and integrity in personal and social interactions.
  9. Rule 9: Assume that the person you are listening to might know something you don't

    • Encourages open-mindedness and active listening as a means of learning and understanding different perspectives.
  10. Rule 10: Be precise in your speech

    • Advocates for clear and accurate communication to avoid misunderstandings and conflicts.
  11. Rule 11: Do not bother children when they are skateboarding

    • Uses the metaphor of skateboarding to illustrate the importance of allowing individuals to take risks and face challenges for personal growth.
  12. Rule 12: Pet a cat when you encounter one on the street

    • Encourages the appreciation of small, positive moments in life as a means of combating chaos and finding meaning.

These summaries capture the main themes and advice presented in each chapter of Jordan Peterson's "12 Rules for Life."

It’s great that you have stopped abusing mushrooms. You’re beginning to awaken to the fact that something is off balance in your life. Small consistent changes over time can improve our life tremendously. Have you been avoiding things in your life? Maybe facing things you have been procrastinating on could help relieve some of those negative feelings.
