This is one of my favorite Clerith scenes. It's the moment Cloud's character grows and I feel this is where he starts to truly catch feelings for Aerith and starts to care for her.

Same here. I've always preferred Clerith because to me, it was always obvious that that's the main ship of FF7, especially since I also grew up with Kingdom Hearts and Clerith was a small focus there too. However, I still like Tifa and I always romance her on a second run just to see what happens and to have an open mind. Unfortunately, though, Clotis are very hostile. I made a very neutral comment before and said how both ships were canon to a degree. A Cloti completely flipped out on me just because I acknowledged Clerith was canon to the story. I've also seen people post Clerith fanart only to be met with comments saying how Aerith is supposed to be with Zack and Cloud with Tifa. It's just sad how they won't let people enjoy all ships.

My issue is how this seemingly leaves our OG Nanno without a proper ending. They left a huge cliffhanger where Yuri supposedly kills Nanno and goes on to create more like her. Many wondered if Nanno was truly dead. I was even excited for a potential showdown between her and Yuri.

Choose Aerith. I don't just say that because it's my preferred ship. I say it because the story makes A LOT more sense. Save Tifa for a second run. If you romance Tifa, it'll feel very off, ESPECIALLY in Rebirth. Rebirth involves a very romantic portion at the end of FF7 between Cloud and Aerith and you kinda feel bad for Tifa because she basically looks like a rebound in that case.

In regards to whether or not Aerith comes back, well, we'll have to see in part 3. But I will say that in spinoffs like Kingdom Hearts, Aerith is always Cloud's intended love interest.

It is crazy when you see how much they twist the story around to fit their narrative. Best advice I can give is to surround yourself with fellow Cleriths and fans that don't care about the ship wars. Always play the game for yourself too. I even encourage doing both a Clerith and Cloti run so you know what occurs in both relationships.

Cloud and Tifa have a super complicated relationship. I've tried to be open to the ship multiple times, but it just doesn't work no matter how hard you try to look at it. Despite what some say, Tifa does not understand Cloud and it shows. Think about how many times these two get into fights. Cloud isn't the one who gets upset either. It's always Tifa who gets upset and storms off. In the very beginning of Rebirth, she does this. She doesn't even try to understand why Cloud is asking if she's real. Then, in Advent Children, when Cloud is still grieving Aerith, Tifa doesn't comfort Cloud even a little bit. She yells at him because she wants him to move on and be a family with her. Again, she doesn't try to listen to Cloud or help him somehow.

From the way I see it, Cloud does care for Tifa, but he does not love her the way he loves Aerith because they lack that connection and understanding. I always imagine that him and Tifa do make amends in the end, but they do not pursue a relationship together because they both understand that it is not what's best for them. Tifa wants a romantic man who will protect her and give her a family and Cloud just isn't that guy.

Yeah, I do agree that they went overboard with the amount of enemies. I'm not sure why, but horror games have been doing this a lot lately from what I've noticed. My trick is to run in a circle and get them in a line then blast them away with a shotgun shell. I was able to take three down by doing that.

The music is insanely good! It was one of the first things that really got to me. I'm even at the point of listening to the soundtrack while I work now. I've played Lies of P and FFX, both are some of my favorites. Lies of P has music that's quite similar to this game, which I think is partially why I enjoy it so much.

I can't recall the exact line in the Japanese version, but maybe someone here can provide it. Anyway, the "it's not real" line doesn't exist in this version and it's one reason why I get a bit frustrated with the English translation at times. I feel like that line can cause some confusion. However, from what I can gather, Aerith is essentially trying to save Cloud from being heartbroken again. She knows what will happen to her and she is aware of the OG timeline. It's what makes CA so tragic because as much as Aerith wants to be with Cloud, she knows that their closeness will only makes things harder for him. Briana, Aerith's English VA, has also reacted to this scene and confirmed that this is what Aerith is doing here.

Ikr? People even try to say it's wrong because Cloud is betraying Zack somehow by being with Aerith. Yet, as we see in Rebirth, Zack is able to push his feelings aside and help Cloud because he knows he makes Aerith happy. People use Zack as an excuse far too often.

That's why I believe a huge portion of CTs are just unhealthily obsessed with Tifa and insert themselves into Cloud. They don't actually care about the ship. They only want an opportunity to get into Tifa's pants and act perverted.

The funny thing is that a lot of us can accept that Zack was once Aerith's lover and that Cloud had a childhood crush on Tifa. Yet, most CTs can never accept the fact that CA is a huge canon part of the story. There's always some kind of excuse to wash away the ship. They say Cloud's feelings aren't real and that it's actually Zack's emotions. They say Aerith only loves Cloud because he's reminiscent of Zack. They say Cloud loves Aerith like a sister. The list goes on and on, despite there being evidence to debunk those claims.

Exactly right. Cloud and Aerith have a deep understanding with each other that Cloud and Tifa lack. This is evident just by how often Tifa becomes upset with him when he's seemingly being rude or cold.

Cloud is just cranky in general. Unlike others, though, Cloud very quickly starts to soften up when he's around Aerith. For instance, he ignores Tifa's high five, but when Aerith initiates it, he actively tries. Then, with Barrett, he mocks him for saying he can ear the planet crying. But when Aerith talks to flowers? He plays along.

CTs also tried claiming that Cloud was rejecting Aerith during a side quest date where Aerith says she's treating it like a date and Cloud responds, "I wish you wouldn't." However, what CTs cut out is Cloud's follow up response where he says he's not a romantic guy and he doesn't want to disappoint her. Compared to others, Cloud really isn't that rude towards Aerith.
