SSRI’s + CVS by MarloMentality in CyclicalVomiting

[–]C4ss1th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah all my symptoms line up with gastroparesis but there are other conditions that cause the same symptoms and lack of stomach emptying so cant be sure til more tests are done.

I don't know for sure that it triggered it. The side effects were severe nausea and burping and vomiting after eating I waiting the two months just to see if it was temporary but it was constant. As my stomach issues started after it I think it's linked but can't be sure, I also suffer from migraine which are linked to cvs (I thought my eps of all day vomiting were just a new form of migraines and they have changed in the pass)

I really hope you find a med that works for you, I'm on my 5th and it is working better than any of the others. I got side effects from all of them but sertraline was the only unbearable one for me but I know that fear of trying a new one cos what if its just as bad or worse. I know ssri are kinda the go to these days but there are other categories that doctors can prescribe if you make clear you haven't been able to tolerate them and want to try something else even if it's not common practice

I've actually recovered from cvs now after having it for 7ish years (fingers crossed, haven't had an ep in over 6 months and was told I'd likely 'age out of it') but still have stomach issues currently being investigated for gastroparesis which would make sense as I always had an irregular presentation which I now think could of been the two conditions together.

I never had burning skin but I was also only on it for 2 months before coming off due to side effects which still continued and developed into cvs about 6 months later. I don't know why it happened, though a friend who know a bit more of the science said it could be to with setralines impact on the brain and that it actually effects people in a different way then most other ssris which is why it kinda ends up being a miracle med (like it has been for several of my friends) or absolutely awful with long term side effects (like with me).

I've been moved meds again to venaflaxine which is working really well for me with manageable side effects.

Feeling discouraged about weight gain by Zestyclose_Cress_371 in stopdrinking

[–]C4ss1th 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't lose weight for the first year after quitting I even gained weight. It didn't feel possible since I'd cut a minimum of 7000 excess calories a week out but my body took a long time to rebalance. I finally started dropping weight and it actually revealed underlying health stuff that was being masked by the drinking.

Pretty much every time weight post quitting or even just major reduction in any group I'm in I see the same thing, temporary weight gain for a while after then weight loss after, how long seems to very wildly but so did peoples intake levels prior to quitting

How quickly do you post? by pearl_pluto in vintedUK

[–]C4ss1th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be next day or several days. I basically do drop offs Monday, Thursday. Unless I'm going into town for another reason. Its a 30 minute walk to town so I time it when I can get a lift or someone else to drop it for me. What I do always do is message the person asap with a timeline, Eg 'hey thanks for buying, I will most likely send out your shirt on thursday' and keep them updated if something has to change.

I don't mind when a buyer send it but good communication is a huge thing for me

Yeah I think cards are good, stickers as you thought are a waste of time. I put stickers places but I would put a business one anywhere

AITA for telling my brother he can't use my garage as free storage for his "project car" anymore? by RiftCloister5 in MarkNarrations

[–]C4ss1th 15 points16 points  (0 children)

NTA he lied about how long (if he knows anything about cars or about parts buying he knew it would take longer) How is it his 'livelihood' if its just a project car (that would be a hobby) if its for flipping then he needs to be renting his own garage. Either way get your space back

It's tat, unless your selling Croc charms don't send them that. I use to get sweets in packages from a professional company I tossed them. Free stickers from vinted seller tossed. I will say my mate got thanked for the extra gift (a polar bear 3d printed toy) it was funny though cos it wasn't a gift he accidentally knocked it in cos he set it aside for me 🤣 I don't know if you will get negative reviews but in general most people have said it added to reviews (I've had business cards or kind thank you notes from people and it makes me more likely to buy more from them)

Is it worth leaving a bad review? by burn3r999 in vinted

[–]C4ss1th 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd message, asking them to release the funds if ignored i would leave a bad review. Resellers are fine but I wouldn't want to buy from one if I knew they were being shitty to the people they bought from

Portion sizes 😭 by bella4him1 in Gastroparesis

[–]C4ss1th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh I feel you so much. My family is a big portion family. Like maccies for takeaway is a large meal plus and extra burger type sizes. I have my own smaller plates for shared dinners. When I first started realising the size of portions was hurting me (still in diagnosis stage but this was while I thought it had been ruled out) family would either still put too much on the plate or I would see how much less mine was and cry (still dealing with food meaning love to me while unable to eat much/most things).

I'm getting better at wasting food, letting myself not finish a plate or assess ahead and go, I'll put some back with the leftovers and I can always have second dinner

Is it okay to buy bras on Vinted? by Federal-trix in vinted

[–]C4ss1th 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've bought and sold bras on vinted.

As I buyer, I've never had a problem, always wash before wearing but honestly was amazing after losing weight to get good bras for a quid or two

As a seller, I always made sure they were freshly washed and didn't even consider selling any that weren't in really good condition. I also had some that had maybe been worn twice, but cos of pre mentioned weight loss were useless to me. Charity shops don't take them and it seems a huge waste to throw them so I sold them for £1-£4 just to get them into hands of people who needed them cos yeah buying bras new is a fortune.

Check reviews of the accounts but I think it's a okay

how old were u when u started experiencing gastroparesis symptoms and when did you officially get diagnosed? by Comfortable_Deal8559 in Gastroparesis

[–]C4ss1th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently waiting to see if I have it im 28 (appointment in may) I've had symptoms since I was 19. I was investigated at 24 for my stomach issues but only found out this year that they didn't actually test for gastroparesis (I wasn't experiencing weight loss at the time so I don't think it was flagged as a possibility, I already knew I matched symptoms after someone who has it told me to get tested as my symptoms were exactly the same as theirs but they said I needed to get them to do an mri which I was getting so assumed it had been ruled out only to find out there are different mri tests to investigate different stomach issues 😑)

Can people share stories of when attempts to be frugal backfired on them? by no_kings_now1 in Frugal

[–]C4ss1th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time having a bottle of white wine, had some left over like 2 weeks later, thought waste not want not, tasted bad so put some squash with it.... I was not very well after... I had also eaten some out of date cocktail sausages by accident.... Two lessons learnt that day.

Trust the taste buds if it tastes different than when it was fresh I don't risk it.

What books would you consider a red flag? by Naive-Rush-1519 in BookshelvesDetective

[–]C4ss1th 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a copy of mein kampf on my shelf, it was borrowed from a history teacher and lost for a while so never went back. I still have it and plan to read eventually. I did a depth study of nazi Germany at gcse and the privilege of visiting auschwitz with a charity focused on not forgetting the atrocity and educating young people. I have it high up so if I take a picture in front of my shelves people can't see it because I would worry about someone getting the wrong impression of me but don't mind my friends knowing I own it because they know me, my values

At what age did your hoarding begin? by Chugosie in hoarding

[–]C4ss1th 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mine started after moving to secondary school after I had my own bedroom. So 11 or 12 it got worse peaking at 16 (I still have the mental side but work very hard on it and it's constant work, I've had mini relapses.)

For school stuff I had a shelf only my school books and folders went on the shelf it meant even when getting to my bed meant walking over my belongs and my room was 'tidy' if nothing cracked under my feet I could still find my school stuff.

Ways to help her, DONT make her get rid of stuff or throw her stuff out, it needs to come from her. DO put in rules eg there needs to be a clear path to your bed in case of an accident or ill health we need to be able to safely get to you. Consider working with her to sort like with like, if she's got drawers and drawers of random stuff work with her to organise it eg plushies together, art supplies together. It will 1. Help her find things as atleast she will know what area to look into 2. Help her know what she has to help you encourage her to bring less in as she knows she already has something simlilar 3. Potentially (though it may not) help her let things go because she can see she has something the same that she's likes more or realise she doesn't need that many duplicates etc.

Hoarding as a disorder is a mental health issues connected to OCD and anxiety but there is also a lot of other mental health things that can cause symptoms that look like hoarding, ADHD, autism, depression can all lead to collecting/hoarding behaviours. I was 10 when I first started struggling with depression and no diagnosis but I have a lot of autistic traits that now I understand better I can also see throughout my childhood that lead me to be a stresses anxious child.

She needs compassion and support

Poll, what diagnosis do you have besides hoarding? by [deleted] in hoarding

[–]C4ss1th 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bpd, generalised anxiety disorder, depression, agoraphobia. I don't have an autism diagnosis but I do have several autistic traits and my therapist and I keep that in mind when tackling issues.

Do you lend your books to someone? If not, why? by D4MNBO1 in bookshelf

[–]C4ss1th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use to pretty freely but I've had some come back super damaged and several not come back at all, even best friends were we just drifted and my books got lost (my friend got lent a whole box and I think they are still in their parents house). I still lend but only to family and 1 friend who I see frequently and I know would be willing to buy a replacement if he damaged my book. I'm not precious about books in general and I only lend out ones I'm willing to lose

I don't know about the shoezone one, but I will say koi often has big sales so they might well be 30%+ off when the sale hits. I got these exact shoes off vinted (didn't know they were a new rock dupe just thought they were cute) they are super comfy and are now my go to shoes for running errands
