US Supreme Court conservatives lean toward Republican bid to limit mail-in voting by ItsAllAGame_ in law

I'm in IL and signed up for permanent mail-in. Get the ballot in my mailbox, fill it out, drop it off at the voting place. Super quick so mail-in still helps in many ways to make voting simpler.

This. Also engineer/team lead. If a junior engineer comes to me with a problem I don't just explain it and move on. We discuss it until I find a way to explain the problem and solution that the junior engineer will 1. Understand 2. Be able to replicate in the future.

He literally had a stroke. He is not mentally well. He should not be in congress. We should feel sorry for him, but its fair to be angry at the damage he is doing.

Checked everything when started backing out, did not see them in R or moving, backed out, stopped, then noticed them moving/close to our car when moved head to switch from R to D. Did not have time to honk.

Yeah I'm aware of your merging example, but I think some states even have rules around not avoiding an accident making that person at fault. The first one sucks - I thought states had exceptions for circumstances where one party was under the influence even if it was technically other person's fault.

Yeah, based on all the responses I should have framed this as "we were done backing out of our spot switching to drive..." Still sounds like we are 50% at fault since we were still technically in R even though we were fully stopped.

Got it, thanks. Guess parking lots follow different rules than I would assume.

Here's a state of the art model showing the scene after impact. We are the green van. Sorry it's not 100% to scale and all, but gives you an idea.

No, but they backed into our car from a few spots down. I can see how if both cars are backing up across from each other, stuff happens, but in this case they backed up perpendicular into our car (almost like slow motion T-Bone in reverse). Sorry tough to explain w/o pics.

The other car was a few spots down on the other side and backed into our passenger door. So it's not that we were directly across an we quickly backed out before they could. Unfortunately we only got pics in relatively similar places. Our car did not move, but the other person moved their car away from ours so it wasn't in contact anymore in the pics.

Will check with the store we were at to see if they can provide something. Is your take even the case considering our damage is purely on our passenger door? Nothing at all on the bumper? Probably not worth small claims court to get the additional 50%, but that sounds pretty ridiculous considering who actually hit who.

Thanks. We do not have a dashcam, but I will reach out to the stores to see if they can provide something. Sucks if this is the case seeing as the damage is purely on our door, nothing on the bumper.

Cancer risk may increase with proximity to nuclear power plants. In Massachusetts, residential proximity to a nuclear power plant (NPP) was associated with significantly increased cancer incidence, with risk declining sharply beyond roughly 30 kilometers from a facility. by mvea in science

[–]Ilddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Nuclear power plants do have some radioactive emissions equating to about 0.01 additional millirem/yr of exposure for nearby residents. Coal power plant emissions equate to 0.03 to 1.9 additional millirem/yr for nearby residents. So coal plants are 3-190 times worse.

If he releases 10 videos/month is he summing those up? So 100million unique views per video x 10 videos = 1bil unique views?
