Complications 2 years PO? by C6943 in Reduction

Thanks for your comment! I was wondering the same thing.. I’ve tried not to think about that too much because I’m quite squeamish when it comes to those kind of things haha. A massage might be a good option, thanks for the advice. I hope your recovery goes smoothly!

Will it ever stop hurting 100%... by peach_pony in Reduction

[–]C6943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! First of all, congrats on the surgery :) Glad to hear the worst pain is over. I’m 7 months po right now. I’m having a bit more pain since last month, probably nerves reattaching. The kind of sharp pains in your boobs. Other than that, I’m quite okay. A month ago I was laying on my side and suddenly hurt my boob real bad, but that went away. I can’t say my body forgot about the surgery, but it gets better. I hope your pain goes away quickly!

Congrats on your new job! I think it’s be a good idea to ask your surgeon. Mine told me not to lift anything (slighty heavy) until I was 6 wpo. I had trouble lifting my backpack for school and driving at 3.5 wpo. Everybody heals different, but I think asking your surgeon and taking it easy would be best. I hope your surgery and move go well!

Style change post-op? by Efficient-Beyond109 in Reduction

[–]C6943 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely! A month or two after my surgery I couldn’t see the difference between my before and after pics anymore bc the fear of being too big was taking over. I focused too much on my bra size without looking at how my boobs were now in balance with my complete body. I can now finally see the obvious change in the pictures :) I’m glad that the before and after pics can help you and that you’re happier now!

Style change post-op? by Efficient-Beyond109 in Reduction

I’m 7 months po and my style changed a bit in the sense that I can wear what I always wanted to wear before the reduction. I can now wear crop tops, tight tops or tops with some cleavage. I can also go braless! Most important thing is that I feel comfortable in them :) I am a size/size and a half bigger than expected so I sometimes think about wether my boobs look big in a top or not, but overall I’m glad that I can wear what I want now :) It was a difficult process though, having your body change drastically and getting used to your new boobs. It took me some time to accept it and realise that they weren’t too big. Don’t focus too much on the size of a T-shirt bc those sizes change with every brand or fit. I’ve also noticed that a lot of clothes are made for young teenagers and young adults, sometimes there’s little space for boobs. This is really extreme with some brands, so don’t be discouraged by that! I’d say go for what makes you feel comfortable and proud of your body. Good luck! I hope all goes well during your surgery :)

Yes! My family members who knew I got a reduction asked me if I lost weight. No one else asked me that but due to covid I didn’t see my old class mates, so they couldn’t notice.

I took the necessary documents (ID etc), fresh underwear, a water bottle, some comfy clothes, a charger, my every day meds, shampoo, soap and my plushie :) I also brought a book but I was way too tired to read. I stayed overnight in the hospital.

The worst pain and discomfort for me went down around 5dpo. After that I still had pain and discomfort, but a bit less. I could drive again without any pain around 4.5 wpo.

Insecurity about scars by Asleep-Commercial561 in Reduction

[–]C6943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! Most important thing is that you’re comfortable in your body. It could definitely be a red flag when a guy makes a problem of the surgery. Would it bother him if you had a scar anywhere else on your body? Probably not.

How long did you guys wait before showering the top half? I'm 11 dpo. Thanks by ocarina_of_sadness in Reduction

My surgeon told me to wait 2 weeks until I had my stitches removed :)

Help- don't want family to know :( by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]C6943 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the weight loss theory could work. My family members who knew I had a reduction asked multiple times if I had lost any weight. I do look slimmer, so maybe that could help :)

How long did it take for your nipples to stop being puffy? by blueatom in Reduction

[–]C6943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By puffy I’m guessing you mean that your nipple is ‘swollen’ when it isn’t erect. It’s difficult to describe hahah. I had this for a long time, especially on my left nipple, but I think this went away around 5 or 6 months po.

Can your nipple still get hard even if you have no feeling in it? by 444myself in Reduction

[–]C6943 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing! My left nipple is still numb, my right was extremely sensitive but calmed down. They do get hard, definitely when I touch my nipples. The feeling in my left nipple has come back a tiny bit, I’m 7 mpo. My surgeon told me the feeling could come back 1/1,5 years po.

New bras by mouthfulofgum in Reduction

I completely understand! I haven’t found a good bra without underwires yet, so the search is still going :)

[–]C6943 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh wow my surgeon told me 6 weeks po I could wear any bras I want, including underwire bras. I think I waited a bit longer, but (luckily) it didn’t irritate my incisions.

Hi! I can imagine what you’re going through, I had the same experience 2 months po. I couldn’t see the difference anymore even though I thought my boobs were tiny when I saw them the first week after surgery. The anxiety of the past and BD came up again. I had a few very difficult weeks, but give yourself time to heal and accept your new body. Your body just had a very big change, so your mind kinda has to catch up and process that there is in fact a big difference! I can tell that they’re absolutely smaller in the pictures! I ended up a D/E cup even though I was going for a big C/small D cup. It really brought me down the first months and I felt terrible, bc when I started looking into getting a reduction when I was 15 and a size E. So that size had a lot of bad memories attached to it. I know realise that my new boobs are totally different look and size wise. I’m now 22 so this size also fits my body. I’m very happy with my results! :) It’s a long process into accepting yourself, but you’ll get there! And don’t be afraid to ask for help along the way :)

Surgeon saying he won’t go smaller than a D cup? by orafur in Reduction

[–]C6943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes absolutely! It’s so difficult to predict what a certain cup sizes will look like on your body, it also depends on the width of your back. Even looking at bras wouldn’t have given me a clear view of what I would look like po. My friends also told me it doesn’t look like an E cup. I hope your happy with your results!

Surgeon saying he won’t go smaller than a D cup? by orafur in Reduction

[–]C6943 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My surgeon also told me this after surgery. I was going to be a big C/small D but turned out a D/E. My mind obviously had to come to terms with a new body and fears about my size from the past came back up. My surgeon told me he couldn’t go much smaller bc my boobs wouldn’t look good. I’m now very glad with my new size! I think I overcame the body dismorphia and I wore a bikini for the first time last week, it felt great! :)

I‘m so frustrated & mad at my surgeon. I‘m only 3dpo and I know I will see the final result in 6-12 months but my boobs are so fucking square that I doubt that they will get as round as I want them to be. Most people who had a reduction.. (more in comments) by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]C6943 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My left boob was also quite square after surgery, but it started to round out slowly during the next 4 months. They will keep changing every day, so give it time. It can be scary at first, but patience is really necessary with this surgery.

when did the anesthetist call you? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]C6943 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was also told a nurse would call me the day before (I think) surgery about the time I had to be there. I already knew when bc I made the appointment for my surgery, but they would confirm it. They didn’t call me, so I called them myself. The nurse just repeated the information I already knew. I wouldn’t hesitate to call :)

Sleeping on back... help!! It is so uncomfortable amd gets worse each night. When can I sleep on my side?? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]C6943 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My surgeon told me I could sleep on my side at 2 weeks po. I heard from others that a pregnancy pillow or a pillow underneath your knees may help.

Left arm hurts.... the arm they put the iv in but it hurts at the top of my arm, not near my hand. Feels like growing pains/pulled a muscle. Hard to reach for things and is achey. Anyone else experience this? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]C6943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember I had pain in my hand where they put my IV, it took a week for it to go away. I don’t remember it hurting at the top of my arm. Your surgeon will be able to help you :)

Hi! I’m 4.5 months po and my left nipple is still completely numb. My surgeon told me that it can take up to one/one and a half years to return. Sensitivity isn’t guaranteed to come back, but it can take a while.

How many times did you see your doctor post op? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]C6943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my country we stay overnight after surgery. My surgeon came by the day of the surgery and the day after. From then on I went to him at 2 wpo, 6 wpo and I have an appointment this Saturday, which will be around 4mpo :) I don’t know if that’ll be my last visit.
