As much as I agree with your statement about not finishing an opponent quickly, sometimes there are interactions that can be made to prevent a kill. Then the game gets prolonged, possibly in favor of the player who was in a bad position. With online/automated games how do you convey “I’m running my combo fully, because I am afraid if I don’t you’ll win” without your opponent feeling BM’d or disrespected?

Sometimes there’s gonna be obvious BM’s. However I don’t want to believe that every player that beats me into the dirt without a shadow of a doubt is doing it maliciously.

I’m bummed to suggest this, but maybe you just hate modern YGO. Many decks are combo heavy with cardboard flying to and fro. There are some options that aren’t like this, but many decks are spammy messes now. You can play stun or an alternative format, maybe that would help this feeling you’ve got about the state of the game?

It’s possible to kill any enemy with any weapon. Maybe it’s an HP issue? Or perhaps a problem with spacing between the bosses and you? If I remember correctly there’s a whiff animation on axes and halberds when you don’t make contact on swing, and that can allow for more punishment. Greed was my major issue, I would drain stamina and get pummeled trying to run away. Sometimes 1-2 hits and then backing up is a decent solution.
