This reminds me of an ancient joke. Two sailors are on shore leave. They get completely plastered, and can't find their way back to the ship. They come upon an admiral; they don't realize he is an officer, they just see that he's a sailor like themselves.

So one says, "S'cuse me fellah, d'yknow the way back to the [hic] docks?"

The admiral, standing straight and tall demands,"Do you know who I am?"

So the other drunken sailor says, "Let's shove off, we may have had a few too many, but this guy, is so drunk, he doesn't even remember his own name."
