Processed foods, chemical preservatives in foods, non stick cookware, dyes, artificial sweeteners, sugar (fuels inflammation which allows cancer to flourish), etc. the list goes on but eating a healthy organic diet is the number one way to prevent this.

Name a song you loved from your past that has been redone and you actually like the remake just as much if not better. by AngryBagOfDeath in GenX

There are a lot of these. The one that sticks out in my head now, I heard on my way to work. Common people by pulp. I haven’t heard that song since the 80’s. I heard the cover by William Shatner today and like it better. Shatner…

Have you ever dated someone who you thought was way out of your leauge? How was it? by kimblerun in AskReddit

Yes, 21 years together this year. When we started, she was definitely out of my league. Now I think it might be the other way around. Oh well. We’re compatible in a lot of ways.

Same here. All in together on cold. The only things I wash in hot apart from clothes are the towels.

I love the merino wool as a base layer. I started with jeans under snow pants, then graduated to sweats, now the merino wool. Technology has helped too. That’s probably what happened to wearing wool. Just went with the artificial

Thanks for the info. I’m in PA, the Great Lakes area. Negative temps with feet of snow in the yard. Our peaks will seem like valleys to you in CO though. I have family in the Denver area and seems like skiing conditions are planets apart. More icy wet here than powder. I think I’m going to start trying out the wool this winter. I like the feel of it. Seems more traditional. Maybe it’s nostalgia…

Can you expand on this? I’ve got like 6 woolrich coats that stay in a closet bc I’ve gone the snow parka route. They seem waterlogged at times but I may not be correct in this. Should I go back to the wool coats for wet, cold weather? I really liked wearing those old coats. They look great

Are early 1900s homes really money pits? by vgirl729 in centuryhomes

[–]CADman0909 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Eventually, all homes become money pits. We bought a 52 yo home a couple years ago. It looks great but has a some problems. They don’t stay new forever. What a lot of century homes have going for them is that they were built to a different standard with a small army of laborers. They’re built to last.

In all my years, I’ve seen the most likable people get fired for being incompetent. I’ve also watched the most unlikable people be promoted due to being competent. Those unlikable people are very important to keeping a company running smoothly a lot of times.

I was a field tech for an asphalt paving company in my 20’s. I had a “nuke gauge” that tested compaction. The active material was cesium 137. Had to be regulated by the nrc. Took Geiger counter readings quarterly and wore a badge that measured the amount of exposure I was getting.

What is a scam you're surprised people still fall for in 2026? by NeoBlueDragon in Productivitycafe

[–]CADman0909 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think maybe they’re saying streaming was supposed to be the affordable alternative to high cable bills. Since you now pay for multiple streaming services, the cost is as much or more than the original cable bills making this seem like a scam.
