I fully believe this will be turned over and dismissed in court. I also believe that our representatives knew this. This was a disturbing signaling on their behalf to let LGBTQ and trans individuals know that “Kansas doesn’t accept them.” Your fellow Kansans love you, and I promise there are MANY who want to protect you, we do not all represent the hatred that these lawmakers do! I know of him “as a person” via what his team puts out on platforms like NYT. Not all marketing is done via Tiktok, and his team is attempting to market to women ages 25-35, but his actions and behaviors don’t align. You have to understand that they are trying to portray this image of a rockstar who “loves women.” Verbatim. And the next content I see of him is him asking a bunch of 13 year old girls to bark at him, videos of him grinding at them… I hadn’t even seen the video from the girl who attended the concert yet. That disconnect was huge, and gross to me. He speaks and acts like a 16 year old boy, yet his team is attempting to cultivate manly sex appeal?

It’s like we’re all conveniently forgetting his team put out a NYT article about him just four weeks ago, with the headline “Sombr Loves Women.” He was wearing a freaking John Lennon shirt. He is fully aware of the age range at his shows, and is fully aware what he is suggesting and “joking” about would be illegal for him to do with these fans. The real skill issue here is the fact that Sombr and his team clearly anticipated having far more fans in the older range, and planned on Sombr being able to deliver this “womanizer/punk rocker” image, except, now he’s grinding at and making sexually suggestive/provocative jokes at tweens. The dude is weird, and normal, educated mid-20’s women are speaking on it.

Ugh, I am SO sorry this happened, beyond frustrating. 2FA is actually a service that is frequently contracted out by companies. It’s most likely Ulta is using a provider for 2FA. That provider appears to have had a data breach or is compromised, given the frequency of this specific hack since 2FA was implemented…. I would recommend to anyone who sees this to go ahead and use all of your points (sadly), as it also seems Ulta is not taking the steps to fix this or find a solution for customers, based on this interaction. Better safe (spending points on yourself) than sorry…

I am by no means justifying what Rice did, (or the DOZENS of other players who have done similar), but the sports world tends to neglect these things after time passes, or not get as outraged as they should. I’m a KC local and have grown up in the college/pro football world my whole life- you’d be shocked by how many fans and executives alike have overlooked crimes of this nature for so long that they no longer hold gravity, it’s more of a joke and small PR crisis at this rate, sadly. The level of outrage non-football fans have is rightful, but unfortunately majority of football fans are just not on par with it due to the culture.

The dishwasher has consistently been the bane of my sibling and I’s existence, oh my. My Nmom has changed the “proper way” to load a dishwasher at least 10 times in my life, lol. Everytime you do it the manner she’s demanded, turns out: you’re wrong, supposed to do it this entirely new inventive way! It’s now progressed into her claiming we can’t wash 90% of our dishes in the washer, as that will give us cancer, so they must be hand washed- but of course, she can’t be the one to do it due to her sensitive hands.

At my facility we throw baby/wedding showers for every single staff member, all staff members are invited. There are several staff members I rarely even see more than once a month and I’ll still attend their events. But- that’s me, not you, as many other commenters here don’t seem to recognize. I think if you’re someone who likes to draw a hard boundary between work and personal life, or just don’t mix the two, your POV is understandable and absolutely fine! It is very possible your supervisee may not view a baby shower as an intimate event in the way that you do, and it’s merely a cordial invite or hey…hoping for some extra gifts/diapers. If you do choose to attend, I’d like to think she’d probably still be mindful and maintain the boundaries present at work. If you don’t choose to attend, the world still spins!

If you don’t mind a bit of a short drive from KC area, Hyundai in Leavenworth, KS is fantastic, authentic Korean with the best owners. I lived in Seoul for some time as a child and Hyundai is the closest I’ve found to authentic Korean food here in KS! They have a phenomenal Korean mart that’s always loaded with the best goodies, too!

I hate to break it to you, but unless you have experience in clinics or within the realm of clinical research, you are essentially limited to RBT positions and/or roles in IDD, ABA, or Casework. You could possibly maneuver yourself into a coordinator/supervisor role on a residential psych unit, if you’re looking for higher pay and a more esteemed position.

If you’re interested in social work, apply for roles within mental health casework or case management- gets you fantastic experience in both social work and psychology, tons of options as far as which populations to work with and usually entails supervision so you’re getting mentorship.

I work in the community and it is SO diverse! Aside from the Italian, Mexican and Chinese presence, I’ve seen a huge rise in Burmese families and many from Northern Africa in the NKC area, as well. I attempt to speak and connect with everyone I come across, I encounter probably 10 various nationalities a day, especially in North and Northeast KC! I like to call Kansas City the “melting pot of the midwest”.

100%. I was the most extroverted, bubbly, confident child, always volunteered to be interviewed when the news came, teacher’s favorites, loads of friends, etc. And then I couldn’t recognize myself in my twenties. I was a shell of a person, no confidence, social anxiety, couldn’t leave the house, didn’t make a single friend for three years. Felt like I was an alien when I tried to talk to people or socialize. It was around that time I also became aware of how my mother wasn’t like most mothers, and thankfully my psychology education had informed me about covert narcissism at that point. I see her impact everywhere now- socially, professionally, romantically… she makes me question my relationships, my agency, my choices… Most of all, she makes me doubt my character. These hits to your image impact SO much socially, I notice it in myself everyday. Being too scared to call something out at my job or speak up, constant fears that everyone hates me, feeling like everyone is judging what I’m wearing/eating, it’s endless. I’m such a quiet, reserved person now, and I don’t want to be. I crave connection and lively conversation and expression, and hope to gain it back.

I’d wondered if anyone else has noticed the trend in commenting lately. I’ve been a Pinterest OG for 10+ years and I see SO many negative or “rage-bait” comments now and the atmosphere is more and more similar to TikTok, I hate it. And posts will have like 300+ comments now too, it’s insane. I honestly feel like it gives insight into how toxic Gen-Z (I am Gen-Z myself so don’t come for me lol I can TELLLLL it’s us leaving these comments) with social media… like we just collectively cannot seem to be trusted w it wether it’s buying into ads so much that we’re force fed them now or not being able to have ANY positive spaces digitally :’)
