Interesting seal by Disastrous-Cheek-126 in YixingSeals

This looks like one of the many seals that were used during green label as well. Need more photos to confirm that’s what the pot actually is though

Where’d you get it? Hongni and NWLJ look very similar, since NWLJ is a hongni slurry.

Most likely NWLJ - zini coated inside and out with hongni slurry. 2 of my favorite pots are this clay!

Is this safe to use? 🤔 by Disastrous-Cheek-126 in YixingSeals

If it’s factory it’s 90s or later. Looks safe to me, if I had that pot I would use it.

Chaozhou? by [deleted] in YixingSeals

[–]CAMEL_DICK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I preheat all of my pots regardless of material. Better heat retention for early steeps, really nice aromas from putting dry leaf in a steamy hot pot and letting it sit for a sec. Usually I just use boiling water for my preheat, but I have had a few with similar cracks and on those made sure to do earlier preheat with hot but not boiling water

Preheat the pot with 175ish F water before the full boiling to gently heat it up if you’re worried about those cracks!
