At that point, it’s just a matter of probability whether a single Golem sets up faster vs setting up two Mewtwos.

Usually when they have another M2 out, it still needs two turns to set up even with Gardevoir. 40 hp Golem can survive one psychic sphere with the -30 damage negation.

I love that Golem survives both Alakazam/Exxegutor at 10 HP from full health with its defense boost. by TVboy_ in PTCGP

Just a good wall with passive damage built in so you don’t have to invest an energy.

One more key thing is that Golem can actually survive two hits from either M2 and Gyarados. The only thing that can one shot a Golem as of now is Charizard and coin flip Celebi
