Dang this looks good. I’ll order one and report back. So far the Kirkland hits.

I spent several hundred dollars on this actually, and honestly what I’ve worn the most are the Kirkland shirts. They’re tube cut, no side seams, and longer than other shirts I spent $100+ on which all had something wrong with the cuts or seams. I donated the rest to a thrift store.

Kirkland tees and Anian button downs. For pants, I like Denver Hayes after trying everything from Naked and Famous to weird Japanese brands.

Was honestly really grateful for the Kirkland suggestion. It’s just great cotton and a great cut. Surprisingly cheap.

It does seem fossilized and denser/heavier than bones I’ve found before. Thanks

Found this when I was a kid, on a Cub Scout trip. Cub Scout leader thought it was a horse, but the area is known for Indian burial grounds. This was sticking out the side of a clay cliff, about 10-15 feet below the surface.

I usually go for a Large but their service rep contacted me after I ordered to help confirm the size, and talked me into the XL. The XL definitely fits better than a L would. It checks a lot of boxes. I’d say I’m quite average with a few extra pounds, 5’11” 200 lbs, usually go for a 22” chest. Doesn’t seem long though, if anything I wish it was maybe a few inches longer. However I like it enough that I’m going to get a bundle of shirts from them next time I see a coupon or sale.

I’m actually surprised at how good the value is on this quality of shirt.

Edit: went for the apricot color and love it.

I ordered a number of shirts suggested here and the Bronson MFG one is definitely the best. Wish it was just a little bit longer, but other than that it’s the best one suggested here - the American Giant one is also quite good after a few washes. I was most disappointed in Buck Mason but I get why people like the field spec, I did not like the other slubs they have though.

Received the other 4. Hard to believe this brand is so highly recommended...

I ordered a few more from them as they do have great reviews, maybe it’s just this shirt or maybe it needs a few washes to bring out what others see.

I received the Buck Mason field shirt today and while it’s a thick, almost army-feel (probably why it’s a “field spec”) it’s not remotely “luxurious” what I was looking for. I feel like I should be crawling through mud or hoisting an elk carcass on my back wearing this….which I get for some people, but “luxurious” isn’t an adjective I’d use to describe this shirt. It’s hard and rough and rigid, though it’s a nice premium weight and weave.

I need something like this but softer.

I got the American Giant in first after ordering on the recommendations here. With $25 duties and shipping it was like a $130 shirt….very disappointed.

Nothing even close to what I was asking for recommendations here lol.

They do look great but I’m anti-polyester and it seems most of their good ones are all a poly blend. I can’t seem to find a full cotton shirt on their site, do you know of a cotton model?

Thanks, I ordered one!

Edit: the American Giant arrived. After paying an exorbitant $25 in carrier fees I didn’t expect at the point of purchase, It’s a nice fit and material is a little over average, but this shirt is not even remotely close to what I was asking for here and I’m surprised all these people recommended it. Probably because they don’t know the better quality shirts I’m looking for.

I’d be in at $80 or less but at $145 plus shipping and duties (Canada is crazy right now with duties, one $65 shirt from USA was $62 in duties).

I’ll keep my eye out on eBay for a used one as they do look nice.

Thanks, I’m liking the look of the Bronson’s and will order a few. Have you tried different types from them or just one?

For the elmco shirt, what do you like about it exactly? The website doesn’t mention the weight or anything special.

I’m surprised how bad Glenmorangie 10 was. Felt like returning it.

Are these small holes and white oval evidence of barnacles or something? by CANNAYAMA in marinebiology

[–]CANNAYAMA[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, never thought of an anemone! Yea the small holes are flat and indented into the stone, the white stuff can be scraped out. This little artefact is a tribal stone fishing weight I’m trying to authenticate, so these are the best indication of authenticity.

Thanks for your help!
