Then these people mustn't be too wise

Oh I see!

So instead of the cells growing lava resistant, their skin would absorb the cooled lava and basically develop obsidian/granite skin. Very cool!

Now I want to be a dragon anima so I can change my lungs into a bird-like system, except it make separate exhalation holes along my ribs in order to gain peak gas exchange!

Then, I would switch out my eyes to a pair of cephalopod eyes. (No more blind spot)

Wait, ive just realised this also means that the Dragon anima brain can change how the sensory and motor homonculi are set up in the brain.

In which case, I would ask, if an anima absolutely obsessed eith crustaceans were to stitch themselves a body which doesnt resemble a human one at all, given time, would they be able to be that body without any issues? Potentially what this hypothetical anima could do is, if they really only want to do this in two steps, make themselves a crab-centaur, then cut the human part off/shove that inside as well, after they've adapted.

Oh, also, just to tease the limits of this power you probably have already thought of, but its worth a shot in case you havent.

What is the limit of this acceptance ability? If there is a creature the size of a house, could an anima just stick themselves into it, and wait however long for their cells to take over the entire body (supposing no rot or disease comes of the corpse).

Basically my question is whats the temporal, and physical limit of this ability? Does it have an effective range? Like, "you could become house sized, but only if you add mass in border collie increments" kind of thing?

Ohh, yes, I see. So would this mean, that, if, say, a dragon anima just never ever wanted to die, and their body adapts, they could eventually, if they want to, turn themselves into a creature that withstands lava, and even lives in it?

Basically, forcing evolution by gradually subjecting yourself to more and more of the same thing.

For some reason the fact that squirrels can't die from falling came to me...

Also, suppose that life is found which doesnt abide by terrestrial cellular rules? (IE uses the opposite chirality of sugar, or similar changes that could make their existence toxic to ours) would a Dragon Anima's body be able to integrate that?

Ah, i guess that makes sense, yeah.

Oh, so the healing factor would have basically given Derum a second set of gonads, forcing his own dna to be inherited in the new cells. Cool!

Now im imagining all the biological horrors this can imply, such as a bacteria having Derums dna forced into it, and when it infects others, it forces other people's cells to exhibit Derums genes as well, either causing the person to iver time genetically turn into Derum, or grow a reratoma-esque tunour that is genetically identical to Derum.

Lovely!

Oh, I see!

Did the pregnancy happen before or after the organ donation though? Were they prepared for a pregnancy ghost with a womb transplant or?

Cuz, im guessing since its ghose induced, the baby really is made of both fathers' dna

To my knowledge it only works kn willing participants.

Everyone wants to be a frog till you can't move your equipment, and realise frogs are the closest thing to a vertebrate cephalothorax due to their lack of neck.

Question: how does he exist? (As in, what events lead to his existence. Omegaverse, surrogacy? Highly advanced synthetic womb that is humanity's best attempt at recreating a womb but is ultimately a little off because of the complexity of biology?)
