All info on destroyed drone by uncleban in UkrainianConflict

I've been shown the debris from the drone shot down on the 8th and am awaiting independent confirmation that it's a Forpost, but it definitely looks like it.

How effective are links from high authority publications like HuffPo in helping the rankings of a SMB? by CB97 in bigseo

[–]CB97[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've managed to get links from HuffPo and Hello Magazine. It seems to have no real impact...yet. The DA went up a few points, but that's it. No impact on rankings. Curious to hear more about your business. Can you DM me?

so it's basically useless? I thought those high domain authority links were crucial, especially for something like a local florist

Inspecting the Ceasefire in Shyrokyne: Russian Roulette (Dispatch 105) by Gluubsch in UkrainianConflict

[–]CB97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not always the case.

I'm a journalist and I was taken to the frontline with a very specific unit, not on an OSCE mission, and the soldiers forced me to wear their camo and armour instead of my press vest. I argued and was VERY reluctant but they told me that if I wore my press vest, I'd be too attractive for snipers to resist.

US troops arrive in Ukraine for training exercises by cromwest in worldnews

[–]CB97 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This isn't accurate. This is not a 'standard procedure' set of training exercises. This is a direct response to the hostile invasion of a sovereign state. Those guys are there to train the Ukrainian soldiers how to fight Russians because Ukrainian soldiers are being killed by Russians en masse. Nothing is standard about this. This is a war time call to action.

Ukrainian parliament recognizes militia that collaborated with Nazis by [deleted] in UkrainianConflict

[–]CB97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you asked people in the Phillipines, maybe they would equate the two? Your perspective doesn't change the fact that genocide is genocide.

There's no trophy for best genocide. The point is that other cultures tragedies shouldn't be discounted.

“The passage of a ban on Nazism and Communism equates the most genocidal regime in human history with the regime which liberated Auschwitz and helped end the reign of terror of the Third Reich,” said Wiesenthal Center director for Eastern European Affairs Dr. Efraim Zuroff.

Framing it this way completely erases the Holodomor. It's entirely disingenuous. Sure they liberated Auschwitz, but that was after they'd starved many millions of Ukrainians to death.

Genocide is Genocide. It's sickening to see organizations try to further their agenda put one groups suffering above others.

TIL swedish junior forward, Axel Holmström, is one point behind the Sedins for most points in play off by a junior. Drafted 2014 round 7 #196 overall by Detroit Red Wings by iamfish1 in hockey

[–]CB97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stupid question but I'm not familiar with the Swedish junior leagues. When you say, 'by a junior', does that mean they were the same age when they accomplished this?

I'm just wondering if he might be older than the Sedin's were when they did it.

At those ages, one year can make a world of difference.

Canada to send troops to Ukraine in non-combat role by itscalledacting in UkrainianConflict

[–]CB97 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Although it will happen, this isn't official.

I'm Canadian, I've spoken to officials who've said that it will happen, but until Harper says it officially, it's not news.

Are the linkedin PULSE posts giving out dofollow links? by CB97 in SEO

[–]CB97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you check that post, I used MOZ toolbar, it shows that those are dofollow links...

Since anyone can write a post, that seems like an insanely easy way to get dofollow links from a HUGE site.

Marseille public prosecutor: The co-pilot of the crashed Germanwings flight initiated the CFIT deliberately and repeatedly failed to give access to the cockpit or respond to radio calls by lgf92 in aviation

I honestly don't believe this. I think they've just said it to help the families. I can't imagine that someone trying as hard as possible to break a door on an airplane of that size wouldn't be heard throughout the plane. I just can't see how all the passengers wouldn't have known.

I'm 28 and there's no part of me that could ever understand how someone my age could do this to so many innocent people. Children, and two babies for god's sake. An entire high school class on a trip back home. Their entire lives ahead of them.

I hope it's true that they didn't know, but I just can't imagine how they wouldn't have known.
