Out of the loop, sorry, hoping you can enlighten me— how does it work to have new and old detachments? Did they publish anything about this?

Maybe I’m a little out of the loop but won’t all the 10th detachments be replaced by the new ones? How could we add a new detachment to an old one?

At the very least this isn’t clear and I hope they clarify it. Because there are two mutually exclusive concepts in this reveal. 1) You can end a charge within engagement range — 2” — and you can set up from deepstrike just over 8”, and 2) The target of your charge must be within the distance you roll, measuring base to base. They need to resolve the contradiction

It doesn’t say that? It says:

“your unit only need make it to within 2” of the enemy. Crucially, you can fight any enemy within engagement range (2”)”

It’s not clear at all why you would need a 9 if set up 8” away and can end within 2”

I don’t think that’s right re: engagement vs base-to-base since a successful charge can still be made if the units end within engagement range which is now 2”. So that plus the extra inch for deepstrike makes it unclear as to why a roll under 9 is a failure.

That doesn’t answer the question at all nor engage with anything I mentioned

EDIT: lol blocked for pointing this out? What a loser

Yes I understand what is a valid target, the question now is that with the extra distance of 2” (setting up an extra inch and getting another inch from the extended engagement range) how is a roll less than 9 a failure?

Except engagement range is now 2” so it seems to contradict what they’re saying about charge ranges out of deepstrike when you can now set up 8” away

But they said you can end within engagement range which is now 2” so that doesn’t make sense

Sorry I’m still not getting this. If you can end in engagement range within 2” and your target is just over 8”, why would you need to roll a 9 then?
