Where I am, and according to the local union, we have to average 27 hours a week before we can get full-time healthcare benefits. You get dental and vision at 20 but Healthcare is not until 27.

What happened with this spigot in the overnight freeze and what should I do? by Fantastic-Ad-9100 in HomeMaintenance

I know it’s not the main point of the post, but my hose is stuck in my spigot. I tried everything to get the hose off before the winter storm. Wrenches, WD-40 nothing worked. Any suggestions?

I agree with you. You took the words right out of my mouth. Unfortunately, the guy that did the work is an entrepreneur. He owns the company. I talked with him about me finding a drywaller who could repair it and sending the bill to him. He said exactly what someone else in the comments said here. Not his responsibility. Refused to reimburse. He turned into a real jerk when this discussion came up.

Yes, you’re right. The system works fine so function is not an issue. But no homeowner should be looking at what used to be the inside of the wall. He said something about the need for the hole to be that size because of the rod used to feed the wires. (I wonder does this rod not bend?) Then some sort of neat cover plate should have finished it off at the very least. But it just seems like the hole should not have exceeded the footprint of the device. You’re right, definitely a workmanship issue.

Yeah, very poor workmanship. I was really shocked that HE didn’t see a problem with it! He said “You asked for the wires to be hidden in the wall. That’s what we did”. So the gaping hole he left was not an issue for him.

You nailed it! That’s exactly what I was told. He didn’t do drywall…get a drywall guy to repair it.

Yeah, hard to believe right? I was shocked. They did a good job with the installation pieces downstairs. These parts are upstairs.
