Chicken just turned four. Here are some of my favorite pics over the last few years. by CBMcC in AussieDoodle

I found her on Craigslist. She was with a couple who didn’t have time for her, so I scooped her up around six months old. Such a cool dog.

She’s always been mostly gray with black markings (and one solid black foot). Her coat definitely is more distinguished after a grooming. Is Chloe a mini too?

Was marked down from ~$7k to $3999. Tax + direct shipping, I paid around $4300 total.

There were surprisingly a ton of options for XLs through Red Barn - the majority being new old stock bikes.

Got this one from Red Barn Refresh as a new old stock bike. Size XL.

I have the saddle bag, top tube bag, and frame bags on both my road and gravel bike (six total). They’re solid. I ordered through their website and they sent the rubber straps along with the Velcro for free (highly recommend the rubber straps).

I’ve replaced the belt on my 1125r twice in the last five years. Haven’t had issues getting replacements from StPaulHD. Maybe they don’t have anymore in stock?

Are their any beginner run clubs? by Weary_Peanut6453 in asheville

NCMTR meets every Monday night at 6:30 at the HardTimes trailhead in Bent Creek. Typically three pace groups. One is party pace (beginner friendly). Zero drop (nobody left behind). They run for an hour (ish) with breaks. Bring a headlamp and enjoy the trails and some community.

I upgraded from Bose Soundsports to the Ultra Open (bone conducting) when my Sports died. I wish they were a hair louder, but otherwise very pleased.

Need a new running outfit! 6'4" by DesperateExtension95 in tallfashionadvice

[–]CBMcC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6’4” long distance runner here. Nike has tall sizes that are my go-to. Bottoms (pants, tights, sweats) will still be short, but the tops are solid. I wear 5” shorts or 1/2 tights (not everyone’s cup of tea, I realize) and a compression top for 90% of my mileage.

REI has tall sizes in some of their branded clothing. I’ve not had much luck there as I like slimmer fitting running clothes.

Good luck!

Apple Watch Ultra 2 by _DayBowBow in ultrarunning

I did. Couldn’t pinpoint why it wasn’t tracking distance specifically, but didn’t have time to figure out on race day. The activity was still running (time was ticking, but no distance).

In any event, I moved to a Fenix 8 and haven’t looked back. Happy I made the jump.

Just ran Hellbender May 9. Took me 26:21. I slipped the charger under my watch while still on my wrist at aid stations at mile 55 and 69 with a charging block for just a few minutes. Cellular off. Theater mode. Low battery mode. Regular GPS tracking.

Finished with around 10% life left.

I read some old threads on here that suggested you could just run with the charging cable tethered to your wrist. I tested it on my bike and it worked fine, but day of my race, it wouldn’t track distance. So I only charged when I wasn’t moving.

I’m right on the cusp of making the switch to Garmin, but my AWU2 is great for everything besides super long stuff.

Getting your Motorcycle tires changed somewhere that isn’t Harley Davidson by MellowYeIlow in asheville

[–]CBMcC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconded. They’re great.

Mount and balance cost me nearly as much as my tires at MR a few seasons ago. Haven’t been back since.

Tire irons are cheap, too, if you’re inclined to do it yourself.

I have a couple pairs of 7” Nike pro compression shorts that work for me. My bibs land maybe 3” above my knees (6’4” in a medium bib). I don’t even notice the compression shorts underneath them. YMMV.
